My low carb, high protein meal prep for the upcoming week.😋
carbs: baby spinach, mashrooms, corn, baby tomatoes, mixed bell peppers, onions, blue berries, and strawberries.
Proteins: black baked beans and baked chicken thigh. 😋
On a low carb, high protein diet. Been on this diet on and off since January 2020. I have lost 35 pounds so far.
Here I made 5 meals for 5 days. During the week, I do an all day spiritually food fast on Wednesdays and Sundays are my cheat days where I eat what’s not prepared. On Sundays I keep in mind to eat in moderation.
I welcome any recipe ideas. 🙃
I have increased my cardio the past few weeks. I walk/run at least 10 miles a day and lightly weight lift (I don’t want big muscle; just want to be toned and fit for my body.) I’m 6’1 and 160 pounds and lots of big bones 😭.
Disclaimer: There is no perfect diet.
While on a high protein diet, stored protein could lead to cardiovascular disease and other health issues.
Drink plenty of water. I drink 64oz of water per day, sometimes more. While on a meal prep, I don’t do protein shakes.
Before embarking on any health journey, do some serious research and follow what’s best for your body.

One rice and beans for me
If you ever wonder what it's like to eat rice and beans for your meals. I suggest you try it before you have to eat it.
You see I got boxes of rice and bags of beans. My intention was in case of needing to enhance a meal or a side dish. It was also barter food trade some beans for a can of soup.
Anyway, I also had to shop my cupboard and we'll, it always sounds good to have a prepped meal ready.
In practice it's a little harder. First, I enhance with onion powder and then I had dry packets of chicken noodle soup. These helped me get over the bland flavor.
My first mistake was not soaking the beans overnight. I ended up doing a quick boil for thirty minutes.. this made the beans al dente. The rice also was slightly undercooked but again when adding the dry soup packet and about a cup of water to boil with a pad of butter. I was able to swallow down a couple of bites.
Rice and Beans would certainly enhance a chunk of lesser meat or a can of spam. Add in Sriracha sauce or hoison sauce.. maybe some kimchi and this will pass for sustanace.
My second mistake was making so much. I have more than one serving but there's no way for me to eat it all before it goes bad.
All that said, I suggest before you claim to be able to live on rice and beans..you make it yourself. I know I have to practice this too.
