I’m glad the prequel happened because it flopped and humbled mr. Ackles. He tried to erase Jared/sam from the spn legacy. He also thought Dean was enough to carry a show. The fact is, spn is about Sam and Dean and unfortunately, Jensen had to learn the hard way (after spending millions). I do wonder how Jared managed to forgive him? Do you think he was aware of Jensen’s marital problems and maybe felt sorry for him? I can’t really imagine Jensen apologizing because of his ego but I don’t think Jared would have let him back into his life without some sort of gesture of goodwill. I’m still uncomfortable with how Jensen threw Jared under the bus (Jared had a right to tweet his disappointment. Jensen should have given him any sort of heads up even if it was just a draft).
I'm pretty sure Jared was/is aware of the state of Jensen's marriage. But I don't think that played any part in him forgiving Jensen. Jared said that he had to think intensly about salvaging the friendship or to move on. I guess they were more points on the pro side than the contra and that's why he choose the friendship. But I also think that Jared gave him a hard time and talk. I think that Jensen apologized and groveled in their mano-a-mano talk and Jared believed and forgave him.
Jensen knows how much he fucked up with prequelgate, you can see how uncomfortable he is when it comes up. He himself probably wants to forget it ever happened.
For Jared - as hurtful and shitty this betrayal was - it was good that it happened bc it led to him restructuring his priorities and putting up boundaries (finally).
