1. What is the worst TV show or movie you’ve ever seen?:
I once caught 2001: A Space Travesty on tv. It was unwatchable. I had to turn it off about five minutes in. Sorry, Leslie Nielsen.
2. If you could visit any period in history, where would you go?
I always seem to have different answers for this, I think last time I said 1840s Baltimore in order to catch a Poe poetry reading. This time I think I want to say Mount St. Helens in the late spring 1979, a year before the eruption made the area unrecognizable. The savage beauty of the area now is remarkable, but it looks like it might have been Arcadia before.
3. Who is your all-time favorite fictional character?
14 year old me is crying out to me to say Sakuya Kumashiro*, and you know what? I'm going to indulge her. That character was very important to me.
4. If you could have any animal as a pet (it would be totally domesticated and would not hurt you or others), what would you have?
This is a tough one. I'm torn between a fox and a deer. And part of the consideration is practical. A deer, and I have to worry about lyme disease. And a fox? I just don't want to deal with carnivore shit (figuratively and literally). I've sucked all the fun out of this haven't I?
5. What is the most random fact that you know?
I don't know if it's random but: a bolt of lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun. Why I remember this? After hearing it for the first time, it made me kind of want to be struck by lightning.
