Disgraceful scenes at Glasgow Pride today. A TERF group calling themselves the Lesbian Visibility Network were allowed to take part in the parade which went about as well as you could expect.

I was initially cautious because they were marching under the labrys flag, which has been widely coopted by TERFS, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as I am aware of movements by the wider lesbian community to reclaim it.

Unfortunately, as the parade went on, they produced flags declaring their radical feminism, flags bearing the Venus female symbol (♀️) with an XX in the circle to represent the XX chromosomes that most dfab people have, and a sign praising noted TERF Magdalen Berns. They weren't shy about it.

Towards the end of the parade, a disabled trans person in a wheelchair was unfortunate enough to wind up in their marching block. This person was then harassed and bullied until the AVEN block I was marching with were able to put a stop to it.

Glasgow roads are typically potholled and uneven. It is a hard enough parade route for someone in a wheelchair without the added threat of transphobic violence in a space that should be safe for them. I am furious that this group was allowed to march and that they weren't removed from the parade when their bigotry became obvious.

In addition to this, a friend and I were carrying a trans flag bearing all the names (that we know) of trans people murdered in the past thirty years. The same TERF groups made efforts to block it when they decided we had strayed too close to their marching block. Safe to say, at the end of the parade we made sure to camp ourselves across the way from them, presenting this flag in their direction. It was heartening to see that far far more people were interested in talking to us about our flag and ongoing transphobic violence the world over than talking to them, but I'm still so angry that any of this even happened in the first place.

Tried some new stuff out and it made a whole load of a difference! How you apply affects everything and I'm feeling much more confident now! 💋 Facial hair update: it's growing! There's more than you can see but im naturally blode so its practically invisible on camera! But beard dye can fix that!! Also, Pride Glasgow is in like a week and im so excited! I'm helping out at The TIE Campaigns Stall so come and say hello!! Feeling confident enough to wear make up outside for the first time since coming out as trans....so that's pretty scary!

It must be the biggest fuck you to trump that the weekend he's in Scotland, less than 50 miles away Scotland's biggest pride festival is going on, with an estimated 7,000 people due to take part in the parade- which is being lead by Scotland's first minister Nicola Sturgeon, marking the first time in UK history that a country leader has lead a pride parade. Glasgow pride has also had to relocate to a new venue this year because of just how big it's become, and tickets have already sold out for Saturday. Of all the weekends he chose to visit Scotland, he picked the wrong one to spread his hate

So there was a Pride March in Glasgow today (only caught a glimpse of it bc I was in work booo). But I was taking a walk through the city during my break and ended up behind this family ( mum, dad and a boy on his shoulders) and the kid asked what the rainbow flags were for.

The dad then explained that it was for Pride and that it was a good thing. The kid asked why and he said that it was a celebration of people loving eachother and coming together and it was honestly so wholesome I was just casually tearing up behind them like the big sap that I am. xD
