i made my pride flag :D

My camera refuses to catch it as usual but i like itttt

Quick explanation how I made it under the cut

so you need:

shrinkydink/ shrink plastic

color (I used acrylic markers but you can also use normal markers, colored pencils, even watercolor)

clear nailpolish, varnish, or UV resin

a pin backing (or you can put a hole and make a keychain instead)

option: glitterss, and i added the golden border with window paint just cos it was there anyway

this is what you do:

you draw a template for your shrink plastic on ideally dotted or mathpaper. For a five striped flag like this, your template will be 5cm tall, 1cm for each stripe (1cm is about .4 inches, or whatever your mathpaper offers) and 8cm long. If you do another prideflag, either make it bigger/smaller or do some calculations. My finished pin is 2x3cm, but your brand of shrink plastic might shrink more or less, so be free :D

Put your shrink plastic on top and color the stripes on the coarse side.

Cut it out. If you don't have a pin backing and want to make a keychain, add a hole with a hole punch now

Put it in the oven like the instructions say till it does the shrink :D

Add the glitter and the outline. I used window paint like I said, and a liquid glitter marker i had, if you only have loose glitter, you can add that with a little glue or just put it in your varnish. This step is optional.

Speaking of varnish, if you put clear nailpolish, or a varnish or resin on top, that'll make it look more finished and keep any paint from leaving the chat

Glue your pin backing on or add your keyring. You are done :D

The famous Berlin specimen of Archaeopteryx lithographica - now a pin!

Of course that we couldn't have done our Palaeontology Hall of Fame collection without the famous Berlin specimen of Archaeopteryx lithographica. Our artist still vividly remembers seeing this fossil for the first time on the pages of a Biology textbook. The sheer beauty of it left them in complete awe, and the fossil has been imprinted in their mind ever since. If they had to pick one favourite fossil, it would be this one. Both for an aesthetic reason and an evolutionary reason. What would you say is YOUR favourite fossil?
