"The Targaryen babes wouldn't sleep without the hatchlings, it was immediately found out. They would cry for each other immediately, and so it was that no one would dare part them. Princess Rhaenyra would always sleep with her hands clasped around the wing thumbs of the hatchlings on either side of her - it would later be said she was impatient to ride a dragon from birth. She was noted to always sleep near the hatchling of brilliant silver with violet crests, wings, and horns that would be come to known as Daenyxes, The Silver Queen - named for her beloved mother, Queen Daenerys I Targaryen. Prince Aemon would always rest with his head upon the indigo and bronze hatchling named Nightweaver - their bond was evident from this alone but they would become the subject of one of the most beloved songs in all of Westeros, originally written and sung by his younger sister, Princess Daenys. The youngest of the triplets was a restless sleeper, often moving and crying in the night. She would seek comfort from the hatchlings around her and easily find it, most diligently by the violet and copper hatchling, Dreamflame - named for the she-dragon Dreamfyre of House Targaryen who had laid the eggs to one day hatch Rhaegal, Viserion, and Drogon. Dreamflame would often wrap herself around the whimpering babe, calming her back into a sound slumber.

Bloodwrath, as the red and gold hatchling would eventually come to be called, would wake at the slightest stir with suspicious hissing and spread his wings in defense if it proved to be a cat or mouse. Joraxes, the deep green and black hatchling named after Ser Jorah the Andal, would often sleep wrapped around the sky blue and pale silver, named Barrax after Ser Barristan Selmy. And the beautiful Soulfyre, with bronze scales that faded into gold wings and crests, and ethereal eyes the color of milk and honey, would often captivate the Targaryen babes with even his most minor movements, shining brilliantly even in the dark of the royal nursery at night. A grand royal painting was commissioned of the sleeping newborn prince and princesses with their hatchlings that would hang in the nursery of Dragonstone."
