send ⛓️ to find my muse bloody, bruised and restrained
It was only after hours of abuse that the orcs had finally left her alone. Chains kept her restrained to the wall at her wrists and ankles, blood pooled below her, mixing with the dirt and grime of the cobblestone ground. Everything hurt, and even a slight breeze caused all of her wounds to burn. It would likely be hours more before anyone came for her again, and though her position - exposed and vulnerable and chained - was uncomfortable to say the least, it was better than the torture Morgoth and his minions had waiting for her.
When the door to the chamber she had been left in opened, Laurelin did not even look up. Perhaps her abusers had decided they were not finished with her. Perhaps they had come to take her to her cell. Perhaps there was something worse in store. Whoever - or whatever - it was, there was no use in expending the energy to see it first. But when all was silent and there was no attack on her, she finally did lift her head.
“You are,” she croaked through the blood and saliva that filled her mouth. “ You are Aredhel’s son. Why... why are you here? Is there -” she was cut off by a fit of coughing, which caused only more blood to trickle from her chin. “How do we get out?”
She had met Maeglin once before, when he was young, and though she had no love for Nolofinwe and his descendants, it was possible he would be her only way out of this hell. Perhaps she could be civil if it meant her freedom.

{Maeglin} What movies should we get for our sleepover?
“Hmm…” Celebrimbor thought, “Shrek? Any Disney movie you want? Or we could always watch the Princess Bride, have you seen that one?” He glanced in the rearview mirror and heard Soot meowing cheerfully in her carrier. “I should be at your house in the next hour, I just dropped Michael at my parents’ house and I’m going to stop at the store to grab the popcorn and snacks.”

Moro was grateful these fancy houses had alleys out back for cars and the dustbins. He'd driven out front and counted houses so he knew how many down he needed to go running in the dark. He hadn't heard from Maeglin since he dad had walked in on them kissing in the kennels, usually the younger boy texted frequently in the evenings. That had been nearly two weeks ago. He was sick with worry.
Moro found his house, winced at the height of the fence, but took heart in the fact that there was a tree with branches hanging over the yard, so he backed up, took a running start, and clambered into the tree and down onto the other side. A security light went on, but Moro pressed himself into the shadows until it flicked off. Now... to find Maeglin.
He scanned the back of the house, no lights... except towards the ground, some kind of basement. He crept towards the tiny window and peered in. Was that...? He knocked on the glass, just loud enough to get the younger mam's attention.

“My ring...?” he asked breathlessly as Moro slipped it back onto his hand. Maeglin blinked away more tears then embraced him again, pressing his face into the maia’s chest and holding onto him tighter.
“I kept it. Couldn’t bear to be parted from it,” Moroimequen held his husband tight to him. “I’ve missed you,” no, that’s not nearly adequate enough to describe his feelings. “My Lomion…” he tipped his head up to kiss him.
"The furby is the guardian of darkness, Moroimequen."
“Look, I’ll take it out back and shoot it if you’d like, but Baby, you’re drunk,” he told Maeglin with a raised eyebrow. Granted, the toy did look slightly demonic and where the hell had it come from in the first place? He’d never owned a Furby, had never wanted a Furby, and yet here it was sitting on his dinged-up coffee table like it owned the bloody place.
To make matters worse, it was snoring.

A desolate chill. A phantom touch to your jaw. “I don’t trust nobody, and nobody trusts me... I’ll be the actress starring in your bad dreammm...” { Maeglin, to Ecthelion }
“Maeglin, if you wanted some of my chocolate, all you had to do was ask,” Ecthelion sighed, pulling off a piece of the chocolate bar and offering it to him. Why the lad felt the need to creep about and attempt to unnerve him, he didn’t know.

Dear Mairon, please conjure fall. I am but a wilted pumpkin. I am suffering. Bring forth autumn. Love, Maeglin
Caught so off-guard by the odd tangle of words he guessed were intended as plea, the Maia thought not to chastise the over-familiarity.
“…Oh dear, you haven’t gone mad already, have you? I suppose I should not be too surprised, given the inherent faults of your corrupted bloodline.”
