It was a normal day in suna. People going about their day while the sun consistantly beat down on the village. As the people walked on, an orphaned child ran around the village trying to get some food. She looked worse for ware really and refused to return to the orphanage. Everytime she was taken there she would escape quickly.
As she walked around she saw a boy that looked a bit older than her. The girl trotted up to him. "'Scuse me." She squeaked softly. "You have any food to spare?"
“Isn’t keeping a secret from somebody basically like lying?”
“Nice try kid but no.” What a brat.. and he was the Kazekage’s kid?? Even if he was adopted, he sure had the same attitude of his cousin. “Some things kids aren’t meant to know.”
“You’re staring like you’ve never seen a Suna Nin before.”
He did not realize that he had been staring- true, he held his gaze on the Suna Nin for longer than necessary, but his attention had wholly been on the mystical and strangely beautiful billowing cloak of black grains that surrounded the other boy, watching the sunlight reflect off it. He hadn’t meant to be rude! Startled by the statement directed at him, Kagura held up both his hands in a show of harmlessness.
“I apologize if I have offended you-” his voice is just a pitch higher than normal due to nervousness- “But I was entranced with your cloak. It’s a Jutsu not known to my country.”
“Are you crying?”
Araya straightened up, hands still shaking but he put his best foot forward, thankful the kabuki mask his his features from Shinki. If there's three people he'd rather them not see him cry- it was Kazekage-sama, Kankurou-sensei, and Shinki.
"N- No! Of course not." It came out more as a childish proclamation than anything more of a sand shinobi.

Gaara returns the hug back easily, the barest hint of a smile tracing his lips.
