hi guys .ᐟ.ᐟ tonight, i'll be relaxing & taking a fat shower (i spent the day cleaning & have a cupcake face mask, some strawberry tea, & a candle waiting for me ♡♡) so i figured i'd post my shower routine, filled with products, tips & tricks, & scent layering inspo ʚ ɞ
i will be talking about feminine areas, & this will be a very long post .ᐟ.ᐟ
0 • prep ˚₊‧꒰ა 𓂋 ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
i personally start off by doing a few stretches (because i'll be standing a while) & i fill my water up, just so it's cold & full for after the shower .ᐟ i also usually oil my hair & put it into a protective style like twin braids before the shower. i also take out my earrings & take off all of my jewelry. afterward, i lay out my jammies & make sure i have everything i need for the shower (such as a freshly washed & clean towel & robe, as well as new razor blades — i use a reusable single blade razor & replace the blades every few shaves).
next, i'll light a candle & set any lights to a nice soft purpley pink for the mood .𖥔 ݁ ˖
1 • before shower ᜊ( ‘ ⩊ ‘𖦹)ᜊ
~ i take off any makeup i may have on & brush out my hair.
~ i turn on the water & let it heat up for 3 to 4 minutes while i water floss, floss with string, & brush my teeth.
~ i grab my baby oil & eos body oil (in vanilla cashmere) & set them by the shower.
~ i double check i have everything in the shower & get in .ᐟ ♡
2 • in the shower — hair & skincare >⩊<.ᐟ
~ always make sure your hair is fully saturated with water before shampooing .ᐟ it will help clean your scalp better. i first go in with clarifying shampoo, & i spend a good amount of time lathering it & massaging my scalp to get extra squeaky clean. i use the OGX clarifying strength in rosmary & mint ♡
~ after rinsing, i go in with my normal hydrating shampoo. for most people, using a clarifying shampoo & a regular one could be drying, so be sure you know what your scalp likes & how it reacts .ᐟ i personally have a very dry scalp, however, i only use a clarifying shampoo every other week to every three weeks, so using both feels much better for me .ᐟ i also am sure to use my scalp massager with my hydrating shapoo for the most clean. i use the dove intensive repair shampoo ( & conditioner .ᐟ)
~ finally for shampoo, i use a purple shampoo for my white hair. i try not to scrub too much in order to not strip my scalp. the purple shampoo i use isn't meant to be a real cleanser, however, my scalp is both sensitive & dry, so simply applying the shampoo & not lathering too much is the best for me. this is obviously an optional step for those who don't have any blonde hair. i use the shimmer lights purple shampoo (^ー^)
~ i personally start by using my conditioner, starting with half of my amount to detangle & putting the other half everywhere for the softest hair. soft, shiny, healthy hair is a big priority for me, especially because i have dyed hair .ᐟ i detangle gently from the ends of my hair with a comb, & after adding the rest of my conditioner, i clip my hair up into a claw clip & let it sit while i do the next step of my routine .ᐟ
• important .ᐟ.ᐟ always condition your hair & rinse fully before washing your body in order to prevent acne .ᐟ
~ next, i go in with a facial exfoliant all over my face, neck, & behind my ears for the deepest clean. i try to get the parts of my face that are usually the most dry / clogged. i have dry skin as well as dry hair, so the driest parts of my face tend to usually need the deepest clean. on days that i've dermaplaned (once a month), i am a bit more gentle or sometimes skip this step entirely so as to not overexfoliate (my face is soo sensitive .ᐟ) (^_^;) i use the clean & clear deep action cleanser ♡
~ i rinse out my conditioner thoroughly, making sure to get everything out so as to not have greasy hair .ᐟ i also rinse off my facial scrub.
~ finally, i go in with a thick, deep conditioning mask & i'm sure to apply a good layer everywhere .ᐟ.ᐟ i twist up my hair in a clip & i wash my face with my normal cleanser. i use the l'oréal damage erasing balm & the neutrogena oil free acne cleanser ♡ this is because my facial scrub tends to make me break out,, & double cleansing makes my skin feel the cleanest .ᐟ i only use my facial exfoliant once a week to every other week.
~ i rinse off my face & start my body care .ᐟ i usually leave my mask in for a few minutes while doing the next few steps. (*^ω^)
3 • body Ი𐑼 ♥︎ ~.ᐟ
i talk about shaving your downstairs & prep for that in the next two steps, be warned .ᐟ
~ i go in with my first cleanse while my hair is still up .ᐟ i use a regular dove body wash, scented in vanilla shea ♡
~ after rinsing my body & hair, i use an exfoliating body glove, wet it, & use it to scrub my body with a scented body wash .ᐟ i the use dove x crumbl confetti cake (my faveee smell 🩷🍰🧁) this is an important step that i do once or twice a week so as to have extremely soft skin & no dead skin cells. the glove itself helps to get a deep scrub, & the scent lingers on my body longer .ᐟ i only use the glove on my legs, arms, & underarms because the glove is very harsh.
~ next, i rinse off everything & go in with my sugar scrub .ᐟ this step is optional, but if you want a bald kitty & to exfoliate your whole body like i do, you can do this step as well. by using the scrub on miss kitty & places like the centre of my chest, lower stomach, & collar, i can still exfoliate but a lot gentler. i use the matching dove x crumbl sugar scrub 🧁 this is my absolute fave scrub, & i can save it longer by only using smaller amounts in smaller places .ᐟ i also only use the scrub & glove once a week or less when doing this whole routine ʚ♡ɞ
4 • shaving .ᐟ ִֶָ. ..𓂃 ࣪ ִ ♡
~ my 2nd to last step .ᐟ.ᐟ we're in the final stretch, keep going .ᐟ i use the eos shave oil in vanilla cashmere or the same eos scent but in the actual shave creme. i prefer the oil, especially for more sensitive places, but i tend to switch between the two depending on when the last time i shaved was. if i only shaved two or so days ago, i'll use the creme as it's thicker & i feel it protects my skin more .ᐟ if it's been a bit longer or i'm shaving my bikini area / underarms, i'll use the oil for a nicer slip. i always start at my arms (optional) & then shave my legs. i go in that order to sort of dull my razor so i dont get too many knicks in my sensitive areas (i barely get knicks, but this is a precaution .ᐟ) then i do my underarms, & finally miss kitty. i always go against the grain, except for on miss kitty.
★ very important .ᐟ.ᐟ (be warned) ★
shave in the direction of your hair growth when shaving miss kitty .ᐟ the skin there is extremely sensitive, & is prone to knicks, razor burn, & ingrown hairs. the scrub helps the softness of the hair & the prevention of razor burn & ingrowns, however, towards the inside of miss kitty, you should never use any scented products, ESPECIALLY not inside .ᐟ the scrub is for the top & inner thighs only. if you want a closer shave, pull the skin on the sides tight & shave to the right & then to the left. feel free to add more shave oil if needed. if you do want to shave against the grain, do that gently, slowly, & after the first three steps. be sure to add extra oil, & clean the blade between .ᐟ (* i personally go down, left, right, then upwards, but can only shave at most twice a week so as to not get any razor bumps .ᐟ *) this routine leaves me extremely smooth & with the least amount of bumps ʚ(*/∀\*)ɞ .ᐟ ♡
~ last step .ᐟ.ᐟ i go in with a very small amount of my scented body wash from before & i rub it all over my body to give it the longest lingering scent .ᐟ.ᐟ after rinsing, i turn off the water & wring out my hair best i can & shake off any excess water.
5 • out of the shower .ᐟ 𐔌՞. .՞𐦯 ♡
~ while your skin is still damp, before fully stepping out of the shower, apply a mix of baby oil (on the legs) & the eos body oil (on the upper body & arms) all over .ᐟ this is to completely lock in moisture, & applying while the skin is still damp helps get the smoothest, softest skin.
~ i try to get most of the water out of my hair, however, i know i'll wet it again (if i'm doing my natural hair routine) so i don't wrap it up or focus too much on this step. i also dry my feminine parts so they don't stay wet for too long :3
~ before doing anything else, i clean off my hands & start my skincare. i first go in with the medicube toner pads & wipe one pad across my face, folding it in half & then focusing on behind my ears & my neck. i then use another pad on my underarms; this is to clean them deeply & tone them to avoid hyperpigmentation & ingrown hairs. i then go in with the cerave moisturizing cream all over my face & neck. depending on the night, i might go in with a few spot treatments. my favourites are the hero rescue balm for dark spots & acne scars, as well as the clean & clear advantage spot treatment for pimples.
~ as my hair is starting to dry a little, i put in my leave in conditioner after my skincare. i use the cake beauty leave in (which smells like lemon meringue cookies .ᐟ.ᐟ) & depending on what routine i'm doing (wavy or blowout) i'll either brush my hair out or scrunch it a tiny bit without combing my hair through.
~ afterward, i go in with my lotion for the day. depending on my routine (of which i have four scents i choose from per shower :p) i use a different one, but for this specific routine, i'm going to go in with the eos strawberry dreams lotion. you can find my specific scent routines & layering in a separate post, if you're interested .ᐟ
~ next up, i'll use vanilla essential oils on my neck, chest, & wrists. this scent lasts the longest & gives me the strongest lingering scent.
~ finally for body care, i finish off with my body mist. i'll either use a mix of the bath & body works milk bar birthday cake & the strawberry pound cake mists, or swap one or the other out with the bare vanilla perfume.
6 • end ♡ ~.ᐟ
~ after everything, i'll do whatever hair routine of my choosing, & i put on my softest pj set & head to bed .ᐟ i'll have my water pre-filled & by the end i'll most likely be sleepier than ever. thank you so much for reading .ᐟ.ᐟ
(PSA: i try my hardest to use most to all cruelty free products in any & all of my routines. some of the products i've listed aren't vegan or cruelty free, or are not leaping bunny/cruelty free kitty/PETA certified, but i'm trying my best to swap for alternatives.ᐟ list any if you have some, please. i also turn off my water in the shower whenever possible in order to save water ♡)

things i am doing currently to occupy myself 𝅄 🍨 ࣪ㅤ𓈒
learning american sign language .ᐟ
this is something i've wanted to do for years now, i started when i was younger, but eventually, it fell off. now i'm trying again, and so far, it's actually pretty easy! i use the app ASL Bloom to help me ♡
learning spanish & chinese .ᐟ
i'm sure almost anyone who went through a public school system at some point has taken a spanish class. i already know a lot of the basics, so to help myself with memory and to learn more, i've been using Duolingo to help me. as for chinese, i thought it would be interesting (and it's the most spoken language in the world).
daily walks/exercise .ᐟ
this is self-explanatory, but even just walking outside for a few minutes helps me feel better. i've been trying to stick with a simple exercise plan, and i have a cute pink yoga mat on the way ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
reading .ᐟ
i want to work on a list of books for me to read. so far, the first on the list is "final girl support group" by grady hendrix. i lovvee horror, and the concept sounds so fun! i just need to find the opportunity to get to my library.
so far, that's mostly what i've been doing.. i'd love to do more, but my current situation has me very stressed. i am also trying to apply to a few colleges, which is preoccupying my mind!
Let me add; it's never too late! It's never too late to be what you want to be. I don't care where you are in life as long as you're living & breathing it's never to late!
No matter what you look like, genuine kindness and good thoughts will shine through your face and make it look soft and beautiful
Rub a little moisturizer onto your cheekbones each morning to make your skin glow
Use pink eyeshadow during the day for an angelic look and gold eyeshadow for royal evening events
Dress in clothes that fit well and make you feel good. Make sure you wash them on the proper settings so they don’t fade or shrink and cut away loose threads
Practice good posture! You can’t look regal with your shoulders hunched or your head down (your imaginary tiara will fall off)
Speaking of tiaras, you can replicate this look on a daily basis by putting in a sparkly hair clip or two
Always be kind and compassionate to animals and children- even consider volunteering
You don’t need a lot of possessions to be royal, you just need to take care of what you have (go for quality over quantity when it comes to home decor and clothes)
Practice your hobbies and skills to be sophisticated and classy
Study hard in school since princesses are always well educated
Sing or dance around a little while doing boring household chores
Be polite to people but also know your worth with a quiet dignity and don’t tolerate being treated badly
