belle/tony, tina/tony lol, can i do devyn/gem is that allowed? if not do belle/martin cuz i figure they gotta know each other
We’ve discussed this in the past but Tony and Belle were not friends back in secondary. Tony wanted to be friends (the possibility of dating her was off the market as a very public piece of knowledge) and Belle snubbed him because she assumed he was just like all the other awful guys they went to school with.
Tony worked with Belle at Chapter Three back when she first started. He’s worked at the shop so many times in the last 60 years under various owners and always finds that it fits him like an old sweater.
Belle has no idea why their dog loves Tony so much but Tony is obsessed with him, especially pre-Frito when he was missing having dogs so much.
Tony feels an odd sort of older brother/cool young uncle kind of relationship toward Opal and the twins. He has never been around people’s kids so much and his eyes sparkle when Opal chooses to be affectionate with him.
Tony saw the fiery look of a leader in Attina’s eyes which was what drew his attention the first time. Being the eldest of seven came with a sense of controlling the storm swirling around her and Tony wanted to ride that wave.
The first time he had dinner over at the Triton residence (the REAL FIRST TIME HE MET JEFF!!!) he spent most of it glued to Tina’s side and being bombarded by questions from every direction. He told Tina that it was the best dinner he’d had in so long.
Tony used to hum along when Attina would sing, though he’d deny it when he got caught.
Since secondary with Attina he’s had a hard time making eye contact with her during various relationships with her sisters (lol)
Devyn has insisted upon calling themselves Gem’s “little big brother” given they are younger than Gem but got adopted before Gem. It brings them great joy.
During family meals Devyn is prone to stealing bits of food off of Gem’s plate because they know it annoys Gem and also because 🥺 “I’m just hungry, Gem!”
Gem’s name sign is the sign for fire made right in front of the heart because, while they fight and squabble, Devyn adores Gem and wouldn’t trade him for the world.
Gem is probably the only person that Devyn will admit some of their trauma to. Sure, their parents know a fair bit but Devyn knows Gem won’t baby or coddle them from hearing about the experiences.
Martin is a frequent customer in Chapter Three but his requests only ever pertain to either magical tomes or random historical resources that Pride U probably has but he’s not allowed to make his notes inside of.
Belle is the only one in the shop he’ll speak to, though, because the others either intimidate him (Hades) or remind him of Mim (Tony/Huey/other younger employees).
Seeing Belle at the Knights meetings/practices was a bit of a relief. Sure, she was probably as powerful while fighting as the rest of the knights but someone else who was there was focused on research (this also applies to Dipper).
