I also like that Cassian, instead of getting jealous, is like, yeah I feel you. the level of trust, the way they're so comfortable with each other and confident in their relationship is so important to me 🥺

Holy shit, yes, this is worse. You could also say Lan Wangji came to visit, noticed there were not actually any barriers on the mountain, went up to see what had happened and then Jiang Cheng found out in some horrible way from the Lan, but I don’t think anything can beat the shift from happy anticipation to misery or having to tell Yanli in her wedding clothes.

I'm pretty sure on the list of "sentences Lan Xichen never expected his brother to say", "The Emperor is on the roof" ranked pretty high. And yet! - I'm really enjoying how quickly Lan Wangji is letting go of his reverence and terror when talking to Wei Wuxian and treating him like a normal person instead - also if he keeps doing that then he'll have no one to blame but himself when Wei Wuxian refused to let him go (somehow I think he won't mind too much). (1/2)

Re: your tags on that Wen Qing gifset: yes! - Where is the fic where Jin Ling, as the new Jin Sect leader, gets access to Jinlintai's underground cells and finds Wen Qing in one of them, and at first he's all "Um. Who are you?" but then (somehow) he finds out about her history with his uncle (THE COMB) and decides he needs to Matchmake. (Spoilers: it's an unmitigated disaster. Even once he enlists Wei Wuxian's help. Or precisely *because* he enlists Wei Wuxian's help.)

I don’t know where crack ends and plausible begins these days.  But one time I wrote a samsquirrel story (and at the time I think I was the only one to have written it) and actually I’m very serious about it, thank you.

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Fake dating?  I’m all for people arranging their own marriages with a partner of their choosing, but if you have to masquerade as a happily married couple for the sake of solving some crimes/getting a sweet apartment, I can dig it.
