I mean... I guess it happens differently for everyone? Figuring out which one(s) you are if you are any, I mean. I can wager it typically takes longer than some other orientations to figure oneself out as part of the asexual and/or aromantic spectrum because society doesn't really make it clear that sexual and romantic orientations are two different things. I know that in my case I figured out I was asexual, figured that made me aromantic automatically (didn't know there was a separate word) and called it a day, until I realized there are several romantic orientations within the asexual spectrum, which makes perfect sense in hindsight, but that I hadn't thought about because it's like... THAT little separated in common talk. Wouldn't be surprised if in general it's harder to figure out if you're aromantic than if you're asexual, considering this — but who knows. That was my situation, but it's such a unique experience that I imagine there's endless paths to knowing. And ultimately the only thing I can come back to is "If you know, you know, and no one knows you better than yourself." This is why I don't wanna be like "if you feel X, Y or Z, then you're definitely asexual, or if you feel X, Y or Z, then you're definitely aromantic". It's such a personal thing.
