On September 21, 1999, Peter Singer began teaching at Princeton University, and 14 people were arrested while protesting his employment due to his views on euthanasia and disabilities. A group named “Not Dead Yet” barricaded all five entrances to Nassau Hall for more than two hours before being forcibly removed.

As crime became a serious concern for students at Princeton University, more than 500 petitioned the administration to take action. Their petition was printed in the November 26, 1976 issue of the Daily Princetonian.
