Rumble while the sun abstains, print based installation, pressure printed monotypes, 72"x120", 2017
As an artist heavily invested in exploring the concept of place, much of my work centers on rendering my very subjective and often idiosyncratic response to specific places.
This piece centers on the landscape surrounding the Oconee River in Athens, GA.
While I was living in Athens, this waterway became a place of respite and reflection for me and my family.
On the numerous walks that we took along the riverside I would collect organic and inorganic detritus that I found there.
The impression of these pieces of debris, were woven into each cell of this installation and in my mind formed a portrait of the place.
