Thinking about Prism who has never known her father and is an almost carbon-copy of her beautiful mama, except for the light in her eyes. Just a small glimmer of purple in the iris. It starts young. Her mama didn't expect it, because she'd never had powers, but little bitty Alice with her sweet chubby face would sometimes become two bitty little Alices, shining blue and pink up at her. The only thing that no-good man left her with is this power to create.

Alice resents Winter, she resents when down town is overcast for days. She loves parties and loves the beach. Takes dance classes where teachers try to charge for three kids when she gets lost in the music and multiplies. She learns quickly that she needs to fight to take up space. She sleeps with a nightlight. Learns that light can be dangerous too when she's sixteen and a man grabs her wrist and tugs her towards a dark corner. Back then, she emitted a bolt of light so intense it burned out his retinas and temporarily blinded the entire club. Alice included. She sleeps without a nightlight.
