While Tim was setting up the final touches to rig Ra's base to blow, he finds someone that could be his carbon copy in the dungeons. The guy is unconscious, chained to the wall with multiple chains, and branded.

Tim, obviously, grabs Pru for a last minute extraction and gets the prisoner the hell out of there.

He knows this isn't a clone, because the earlobes are different, as is the brow shape and hair thickness. This is just...someone that apparently looked enough like Tim that Ra's, unconfirmed but APPARENTLY, decided to use to take out his aggression. Probably whenever Tim didn't listen.

They get the doppleganger out, get him treated, and he still isn't waking up. Tim takes him back to Gotham. The dude doesn't wake up. Gets him secured in the Bunker with Alfred. Alfred reports that the under-fed teen isn't waking up.

They get Bruce back.

Bruce goes to take a look at the ex-prisoner once he's recovered. Bruce gets Zatanna.

Zatanna tells them that the brand is acting as a seal, and the only way to get the kid to wake up is to disrupt the seal. But warns them that said seal only works on Beings from the Realm between Realms, and that to unleash one that had been abused would surely lead to the destruction of their own.

Tim calls bullshit.

Or; Danny was tricked and trapped by Ra's, who was siphoning blood out of him to add to the Pits and increase their efficacy. Tim finds Danny, misreads the situation, and rescues him. Now, even though Danny would probably just roll over and go back to sleep, JLD is telling the Bats that if they break the seal then he'll destroy the world. Tim disagrees.

Superboy wakes up in a prison. In the cell, sitting across from him, there's a teen that looks like another offshoot clone of Clark.

He learns in bits and pieces that he's been captures by a shadow government organization hellbent on ridding the world of anyone "ecto-contaminated", or anyone who has ever been dead.

Since he'd died before, even though he came back, he set off their sensors.

He doesn't remember how he got caught, doesn't remember what he was doing prior, but the walls are made of a weird material that glows green and cancels out his powers. It also doesn't hurt him.

Diluted kryptonite? He'll have to steal some and give it to Tim.

According to the kid, they've been forcibly detained to "serve their sentence for illegal immigration from the Realm of the Dead to the Realm of the Living" by way of routinely allowing themselves to be subjected to medical procedures. They are always being watched, they aren't the only ones captive, that apparently his entire high school had been condemned to it as well as some literal ghosts, and if he struggles then they won't give him the mercy of sedation while they do their experiments.

And Kon can't use his power to escape, or free this kid, or free any of the other prisoners. It's the worst case scenario.

Thank fuck he's best friends with a paranoid Bat that might have more contingencies than the Big Bat Himself.

Kon activates the only subdermal tracker he'd allowed Tim to place under his skin, and settles down to wait.

A prison of this design, but more high tech and with less privacy. Apparently the idea behind it was that you couldn't see the guards, but they could see you, and the lights would move at random to make you think they were paying attention all the time.

So psychological torture on top of imprisonment.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━  Blade had a plan. It was going to be an easy in and out, but when he heard talk of a prisoner, a slave, he couldn't help but turn back. "Where's the prisoner?" He asked, but of course... not a single guard wanted to give him an answer. "I'll ask again... where's the prisoner?" A pause. "No? Then die." He said before grabbing his blade, charging at them.

As soon as everyone was dead, he continued on, killing anyone in his way until he found where they were keeping him. Reaching down, he grabbed the keyring before moving to unlock the door, pushing it open. Staring at the one chained to the wall, he made his way over to him in silence.

Kneeling down beside the other, he unlocked the chains before tossing the keys away. "There. You're free." He said, "Now get out of here. I killed everyone on my way here, you should have no trouble getting out."

timeline : pre-canon - canon - post canon . skinchanger verse .  WARNINGS / TRIGGERS : attempted murder . brief talk of being a prisoner . hinted torture . i do not , at all , go into any details .

NOTES : i had this verse on my old blog and really loved it , even if it was rarely used . more so created so there was a reason for her to be away from her family that was out of her control seeing as i refuse to do any amnesia plots with sigrun . there was another bard’s wife a few years back that did that and in respect to both the mun and muse , i promised myself i would never do it . while beorn stated he was the last , i’m sure there were skinchangers who got away from the orcs and hid and that others , like him , escaped .   

sigrun’s maternal great grandmother , sigrath , had been a skinchanger held for sport by orcs - she escaped and made her way towards lake-town where she meet and fell in love with a man . sigfreda had been able to change her form but choose not to and suppressed that part of herself - she wanted to draw no attention to herself or the town by changing her form or letting out a hint of being a skinchanger . signilda had been unable to change due how weak her body had been . 

as sigfreda had never spoken of it ( even to her family ) sigrun hadn’t known this about her family and when braga and his guards came to kill her , the attack triggered natural instincts in her and she changed . she doesn’t remember if she killed any of them ( nor would she had wished to have done so - the mare thought of killing anyone sends her stomach turning ) but got away . unknown to her , they had a gotten piece of her red cloak that was used as proof of her ' death ‘ .

she got lost in the form and mind of a bear for years before being found by orcs and as her great grandmother had been , was used for entertainment as the orcs made her fight wargs for sport . after the first time she had been thrown into a cage , she had changed back into a human , confused and terrified . she didn’t remember her time as a bear but as the days went on she realized what she was and it scared her even more . while she tried to hold onto her human mind , the natural instincts took over more often than she would have liked . 

most of her memories during her time with the orcs is mostly fuzzy and she has only a few clear memories of those years . after each transformation , it would take her a few hours to get her head clear . she remembered a dwarf being with her , held in a hanging cage next to her ( movie version ) . regardless , during her imprisonment and between her transformations , she would mumble the names of her husband and children ( she didn’t want to forget her family , those she was longing to get back to ) and fight back to try and get away - when her mind was clear and she wasn’t lost in her natural instincts , that is . 

she escaped around the time smaug attacked lake-town . while making her way back towards her home , she and gandalf ran into each other and continued on together . 

same as beorn , she had manacles around her wrist until they were removed by the elves after the battle of the five armies . while scared to lose her mind , she used her bear form during the battle , protecting those of lake-town and the elves in dale . the change has gotten easier over the years and her control with it but she would prefer to not use it unless she had to . she fears the day she might not be able to change back to a human . her fear of the form is what is mostly keeping her from fully controlling it . unknown beorn , however , she cannot talk to or understand animals .

her skinchanger form is a dark brown color and she stands taller than a regular bear but shorter than beorn , at about his collarbone when standing up right side by side .
