“I'm trying to tell you I love you.”
The sudden confession made him drop the sushi that was held together by his chopsticks. His eyes were basically popping out of its sockets, not sure if she was serious. Sunye was his only real friend--one person who didn't care about his status or net profit, but cared about him as person. They've gotten closer recently, probably because he noticed that he genuinely enjoyed having her around. He could talk to her, without judgments, without hesitation. And Minhyuk liked that.
Having someone say they love you, whether it be platonically or romantically, was a weird feeling for Minhyuk. The only people who ever said the infamous 'L' word to him were his mother and baby sister. He felt a little tingle in his chest, similar to what feels like 'heart burn.' It was interesting. But he didn't know how to respond.
"Thank you. Wait!" A nervous chuckle escaped his suddenly pale and dry lips, licking them as a natural gut reaction. Thank you? Who fuckin' says thank you when some tells them they love you? Kang Minhyuk, you may be a doctor, but you have no game. He mentally slapped himself as her kind expression shifted to confusion. Maybe this was why he couldn't have friends, especially not ones of the opposite sex. He was socially inept, his only "known" weakness. But, he had a way with words. And he was going to use this opportunity to engage her in some sweet talk to draw attention away from his... word vomit.
"What I was trying to say was... I love you too. A lot more than you think, angel. I got all flustered because you make my heart tremble." His eyes formed into little crescents as he flashed his infamous boyish grin, holding onto her hand as he let his thumb graze across her palm gently. "Have I told you how beautiful you are? No? Well you are completely beautiful. Gorgeous. Breathtaking."
