hey guys so basically im posting this because like every like every person seems to hate proshippers for some reason but we aren’t understanding what the meaning of a true proshipper is

basically, proshippers are like normal shippers… they just emphasize the anti harassment part. thats litterally it. the proshipper term is litterally just saying dont harrass anybody for what they ship…even if they’re a little weirder. thats all it means dude and some proshippers even forget the meaning of proshipping. so many people get proshipping, comshipping and darkshipping mixed up a bit, so im going to clear it up for you guys.

COMSHIPPING

comshipping is complex shipping. basically ships that just wouldn’t be realistic, you know? (Angel x Demon, Vampire x Human…etc) you see comshipping tropes litterally everywhere. yet if someone says the term and is like ‘yeah im a comshipper’ people get all pissy and this literally the normalest one.

DARKSHIPPING

this one is red because this is the bad one. darkshipping often means shipping things that are illegal or just not right (minor x adult, abuser x abused) hence the name DARKshipping. this one’s pretty self explanatory ok.

i think i havent been clear about my stance on proshipping. i am a lightshipper, and i despise darkshippers.

also, being a proshipper doesn’t necessarily mean u ship these ships, just that you support people being allowed to(that isn’t a whole lot better, but it’s important to note). dark and light shipping are two different versions of proshipping. I personally don’t call myself a proshipper as that term is too broad and is usually used very toxically. ONLY LIGHT IS VALID!!!1!!!!!!

Here’s the difference between lightshippers and darkshippers, with examples and they emoji combo often used(this is just how i define them, it might be different for everyone)

lightshippers:hero x villian, immortal x ADULT mortal, minor x minor,self shipping, enemies to lovers, crackship, etc(💡🎀)

darkshipping: supports problematic ships, such as minor x adult, toxic yuri/yaoi, abusive relationships, stalker x victim, rape, incest, animal x human, etc(🎱🎀)
