It is exhausting to relieve the fujoshi discourse again and again. It is like a samsara of a sort...
It's funny how quickly the "women shouldn't write/read mlm content!!" crowd goes to transphobia. It happens so often that I talk about how as a queer man, women writing/reading mlm stories aren't fetishizing me simply for liking those things. And then I get met with "well, you're not a real queer man."
And it really gets us to the root of the issue. The majority of these people don't actually care that they think it fetishizes gay men. They just don't like women reading/writing these things and they try to hide behind protecting us to do it. Then they attack and are bigoted towards the ones of us that don't let them hide behind us.
If I never hear the word “fetishization” in fandom discourse again it will be too soon.
People say they want to talk about fandom racism but then when you bring up how the word “fujoshi” was appropriated from its original Japanese fandom context and twisted to mean “annoying homophobic female slash shippers” a bunch of Western queer people start yelling at you about fetishization.
Like even setting everything aside the way people say “fujoshis” is extremely disrespectful because it’s a blatantly incorrect use of Japanese.
I just want one, one single video or comment affirming "majority of the women who ship MLM are straight" (with the following implication being that MLM shippers are evil homophobic fetishizers who are probably also misogynistic to themselves and lesbophobic because they don't ship WLW hard enough to make it into the most popular ships) to present me one single fucking piece of evidence showing that. I am begging for just one piece of evidence that shows that is a thing that happens. No, don't tell me about the questionable story of that one guy who got told "this is a women's event" when going to a watch party for Heated Rivalry that literally nobody can confirm. Show me one number. Show me the results of a poll. Show me an study. There are people out there who literally make it their career to talk about fandom and fans. Quote them. I want to see from where you all just take that as fact.
Show me ANYTHING that isn't all you thinking that straight women are evil by existing. Show me that you aren't the one being a misogynistic piece of trash because you think that as long you call them straight first, you can accuse them of literally any evil you want.
I just want you all to fucking think for two seconds about the bullshit you all keep repeating as a fact. Just that.
Any f3llow h1m3danzh1z wanna cr33p on th3 yur1 w1th M3lody >u< ???

the way m/m shippers instantly become punching bags of the fandom if they are even slightest bit annoying but het shippers can be in close kahoots with literal MAGA idiots and incel dudebros is insane
soooo funny how people spent like all of 2020-2022 hating on fujos to performatively say theyre "fujoing out" from 2023-2025 and now heated rivalry has made them stop again and its cool to hate on fujos again.
