I think this is a misunderstanding the crux of this argument. It's not abous societal oppression, it's about power dynamics within the relationship itself. They imagine m/m relationships as a relationship between equals in a way that an m/f can never be.

I think it's silly because m/m prominently features unbalanced power dynamics all the time and that is often the point. But the argument was never that gay men do not experience bigotry. It was that they are much less likely to experience that bigotry coming from their romantic partner than a woman in a relationship with a man would.
