The most radical law prohibiting the medical procedure is the Assyrian Code of Assura (from around 1075 BC), which lists the death penalty for any woman who seeks to get an abortion against her husband's wishes:

“If a woman of her own accord drop that which is in her, they shall prosecute her, they shall convict her, they shall crucify her, they shall not bury her. If she die from dropping that which is in her, they shall crucify her, they shall not bury her.”.

How fucking despicable! This abolish human abortion page is taking advantage of a world tragedy in order to promote their viewpoint. It's pathetic and it's not fooling anybody. It shows that they are not pro-life, they are pro-birth. Shame on you AHA!

I am so, so lucky in that I am afforded the ability to choose what to do with my body should I fall pregnant - and although I absolutely loved the rally today, and the passion and intensity of the pro-choicers, I couldn't help but think of the women that are shamed and cajoled into keeping a child that they do not want; of the women that do not have access to abortion due to healthcare or financial restrictions; of the women that have had to resort to unsafe, backyard abortions due to the bigotry that has kept them from safe, legal abortions. I got a bit choked up today coming back from the rally, just thinking about the fact that I am so lucky and privileged to be in a position to fight for these rights, and to have had them afforded to me. 

So to all the women that have been shamed, abused, neglected, that have been restricted by economic, class and racial factors, you were in my heart today when I linked arms with my friends and fought to maintain our right, as women, to choice.

If you're female/male/straight/homosexual/white/black/tall/short/stocky/thin you start on the same page in my book.

It's up to you to make an impact, to set yourself as a good person. To write who you are as a character in my eyes. 

And just how you are not judged negatively based on what you were born as, you do not gain extra privilege from it either. 

I will always do whatever is within my power to punish someone discriminating against someone unfairly, and I will not revere anyone with praise not merited. No person has an advantage based on gender or race.

Equality is a two way street, and unless you realize that, you are working against everything equality movements are trying to gain. 

The entirety of the pro-human rights movements can only be won through peaceful correctness. It is what is humanely right, and it will be won purely through time and insistence. Not through show of arms and strength, or angry over-expectancy.
