I don't know how many times I have asked you promps😅 thank you for answering me 💖 but after I read bad boy matteo I was crazy about the idea of a bad boy matteo dating a popular / catching David (sorry if I'm being inconvenient)

wowowow what a thought!

-matteo hears about him before he ever meets him, hears about the kid in school who was coming up faster than lightening in every social circuit, a kid that no one knows what to do with. the boy wonder in the classroom with the perfect thing to say and the grades so good it was practically mythical, the best director the theater department has ever seen both on screen and on the stage, the center so fast that no one on the field can catch him.

-matteo thinks that he hears about this kid coming out of everyone’s mouth for a month, and to be honest, matteo couldn’t care less. people who weren’t customers hardly ever passed through matteo’s mind. he didn’t even know the kid’s name.

-jonas invites matteo to one of the football games down at the park a few weeks into the semester. hanna and the girls were going apparently, so jonas was trying to get all the boys together, too. matteo agreed if only because he hasn’t had the chance to see all of his friends recently, hasn’t had a chance to go to a social outing and not worry if he was going to leave with enough money to pay his rent for the month. so he goes, and he doesn’t watch too much football, but talks to amira plenty about the boy that hanna has said she was enamored with just to watch her roll her eyes and call him an idiot. as he’s leaving, he catches sight with a boy who’s walking off of the field with his hair sticking to his face, kicking a football between his feet like he didn’t have to watch it and wearing a black shirt that shows off his arms in a way that matteo greatly appreciates. the boy catches his eye, and matteo feels like he’s completely seen through. he doesn’t know if it’s a bad thing.

-he sees the boy later in the library. he’s got his head crammed in between his books, something about literature from what it looks like, and he’s biting at the edge of his pen in between scribbling heavily on his notes next to him. he looks up while matteo is still looking at him and finds him in an instant. he smiles. he smiles, and it makes matteo feel a little brave so he slides right up to the table and asks if he can sit. there’s a lot of people in here, matteo says with a shrug, and david looks around the desolate library before leaning back in his chair, smirking openly, and points to the chair in front of him. be my guest, he says, and the song gets stuck in matteo’s head for the rest of the day.

-they don’t talk too much, mostly they just sit there in the type of silence that comes with turning pages and scattered spurts of writing. matteo learns that his name is david by the end of their little study session, and that he’s from up north a ways. he says he’s studying writing, with a focus on film. what he thinks he learns the most is the turn of his smile and the shape of his wrists, the sound of his quiet little purposeful laugh and what he looks like when he concentrates. matteo can’t remember what he tells him in return, that he’s still figuring it out mainly. david eventually has to leave, something about a meeting, and looks down at matteo as he’s standing next to him and says see you around like he knows it in his bones he will.

-they do, see each other. everywhere, constantly. david always smiles and says hello because he’s polite and charming and makes matteo feel out of sorts, and matteo always stutters out a reply.

-one night, they both end up at the same house party. matteo got an invite through a friend or a friend of a classmate of a friend, not that he’s complaining. he knows enough people there to make a little bit of a profit by the time david walks through the door like he owns the place and everyone in it. david seems to catch his eye from across the room immediately, and matteo suddenly feels a little parched when he sees the tight jeans and the white shirt that david’s wearing.

-they don’t go up to each other. they’re not really friends like that, matteo reminds himself, but they seem to orbit each other all the same. they bump elbows and knock shoulders and send shy smiles and open grins each other’s way over other people’s backs. it seems inevitable, their connection, but every time they get close, one of them pushes it back, shakes their head a little, and turns to talk to someone else, just because they knew that it was going to happen eventually anyways, that they wanted to extend the chase just a little bit longer.

-matteo’s smoking a cigarette out on a balcony when it happens. david is suddenly beside him and they’re standing there in the false sense of quiet that comes from being in the dark. hey, david says after a minute of staring out at the street below them. hey, matteo repeats, and blows smoke out, feeling like he’s the one with the spark right now.

-he goes home with david’s number in his phone and a spot on his cheek that feels warm until the next morning, put there by david’s lips.

-they’re casual, when they start out. they text each other occasionally, hang out at the library together, talk about going to get coffee together, though their schedules never really collide enough for it. matteo tells jonas that there’s a boy who is consuming his every waking thought, and it’s getting hard to breathe when they’re not in the same room together. joans asks his name, and then spits his drink out, and tells him he’s falling in love with the boy that everyone else in berlin has already fallen for.

-i hear you’re the talk of the town, matteo says to him one day after they’ve tried for weeks to accidentally run into each other long enough to call it a date. david is leaning up against the wall besides him and keeps looking at matteo’s lips, and it’s making him feel far more important than he knows he is. i could say the same about you, david says with a tilt in his eyebrow like he knows what matteo does most nights, and matteo knows that he should care. but for some reason just doesn’t right now. i guess we just don’t run in the same circle, he responds and leans in close just to see if david does, too. and he does.

-jonas laughs so hard when matteo tells him he asked david to be his boyfriend a few weeks later after they spend weeks in each other’s pockets and pretending they aren’t that he practically falls out of his chair. he laughs even harder when he tells him he said yes. matteo swats at the back of his head and calls him a dick, telling him that he’s a catch. jonas says that it astounds him that he got someone so far out of his league.
