Shokugeki no Soma: Review of the past few chapters

As I’m reading through the Shokugeki no Soma or Shokugeki no Souma tag. There were many posts about the chapters that were recently out. 266, 265, 264, 263. There are those people who enjoyed the chapters and others don’t. It’s not bad, if you bring the technical aspect into this. Erina is just a kid and having this big responsibility brought upon her shoulders is desperate I guess. And Soma being the First Seat is kind of desperate too. Plus the ship war over Soumegu and Sorina. 

I totally agree with both points here, because Soma hasn’t gotten any good character development. Plus wining against three Elite seats is kind of suspicious. Someone said that Nene should have known the harsh environment that would have harm her soba. I agree on that aspect but remember she did it the way she was taught. That’s the way she had always done it. Plus we didn’t have much screentime with her and we don’t know that she has even uses third flour or second flour. Also don’t forget Soma had his ability to adapt to anything. Isshki said so. 

I’m also agreeing on the aspect that Erina might be push to the sidelines, because of her god-like status. She has the God Tongue after all. I just want her and Soma to be happy together and cooking together also. (I might even write a some sort of missing scene for these two.) Because the first half of the season we barely spend time with her, but I still ship her with Soma. 

Plus I’m glad that Tsukuda put in the part that Soma still has goals he wants to accomplish. They’re also tie with Erina herself. 

Plus even the lower grade level be the Elite Ten is a bit too much. I wish Kuga and Isshki would be one of the top seats because they definitely deserve it. I think that Megumi be the tenth seat was an okay idea. It’s not the best but not bad. It means she has still work to do, but the hard work she has done so far was rewarded. 

Now onto the shipping aspect, no hate or anything. Just that I ship Takumegu and Sorina. But I agree with Soumegu. It’s just that when Soma said something like “I wish we can stay here forever” or something like that. To me it was out of character for Soma. I felt like he should have said it in a silly tone. That’s better for Soma. If Sorina is endgame, then let them have some goddamn scenes together. Like cooking and experimenting together it would have been a cute scene or scenes. (I’m seriously considering that I need to write something about these two.) For some reason I fee like that Tsukuda is doing something for the Soumegu shippers, but they have a lot of scenes together. Give something for Sorina and Takumegu shippers too! 

My last thoughts on this:

That Erina can’t be put on the sidelines again.

Sorina, Takumegu, Rindou and Tsuaka, Isshki and Nene, Momo and Saitou, Alice and Kurokiba, Hayama and Hisako, Shun and Marui, Yuki and Ryoko or Shun and Ryoko, Marui and Yuki is endgame.

That Soma still has goals to do.

Megumi has grown so much. (I just hate her voice, it’s a bit too high-pitched.)

That Tsukuda is a bit desperate. 

Let’s see what happens next guys in the next chapter! Then the next arc. 

But I’m proud of my children.
