fuck I don’t know if I’m making the wrong choice. I just want to not have to be uncomfortable with my body. I’m so fucking scared of the jpouch recovery. But what if going through it is worth it in the long run. Maybe I should risk it. I don’t want to miss out on living in less discomfort.
Fuck I was so sure and now I’m overthinking
My options
Option 1: Jpouch, during healing possible temporary incontinence. Total of at least 2 surgeries. Possibly a third to get my stoma back if it doesn’t end up working.
Option 2: Proctectomy, My body is permanently altered. There’s no going back. My stoma is forever.
Option 3: Do nothing. Pain, bleeding, risk of cancer that gets higher every year.
I went with option 2 and I’m so scared I’ll regret this. I still don’t have a surgery date. It’ll possibly be in 2-3 months.
Ow ow ow, my not-butt hurts. X.X
But my nurse is great.
It's kind of insane how the Dilaudid barely touches this pain. It does just enough to be bearable. But wild.
Luckily I can have Oxy at 2, and that combo usually makes it bearable enough to sleep. At least in short bursts.
Pre-Op Assessment this morning for my Emergency Non-Cancer Proctectomy being done in two-three weeks. Urgent MRI this afternoon to monitor progress of my Ankylosing Spondylitis of my lumbar vertebrae and Sacroiliac joints. Meeting my Bestest Friend (my mum) later for coffee and a little retail therapy. #preoperation #crohnsdisease #proctectomy #ileostomy #ankylosingspondylitis #arthritis #invisibleillness #fighter #autoimmunedisease (at Cwmbran) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN9Y1B6re1f/?igshid=1rb3iprxlpntw
