Now. What is set dressing?
After the production team has found a location, we look at how to marry that location to the script. In other words, how can we fill the space that we've found with furniture, decorations, and props that the character would have in their life? This is where the production designer and the art director comes in.
The roles of the production designer and the art director are to help unify the vision of the film. They build any pieces that we need. They find, buy, or build any props that we need. They work with the director to dress and arrange the set. They are essential roles in the creative process.
With their help, we'll begin shooting in... 3 days...
