multi-origins DID collective with ASPD over here. i am baffled and annoyed by the sheer number of people with ASPD (or claim to have it) who are also anti-endo. especially when their reasoning is "bu-bu-but lack of scientific evidence!!!" "the DSM says DID is caused by trauma!!!" blah blah blah. ignoring that both of those statements are wrong... you're trusting the fucking medical establishment on whether or not something can happen in someone's brain? did you like the taste of the boot too much? last i checked, ASPD is the Hates The Establishment Disorder. and yet because it agrees with you* about some people you don't like, you suddenly are in love with the establishment? give me a fucking break.

the main reason this bothers me so much is because, with how many people with ASPD are anti-endo (and conversely, how few are pro-endo), either (A) i only have pro-endo but prosocial friends who i have to walk on eggshells around because if i don't play the part of The Good Sociopath, they'll all leave and i'll once again have literally 0 support system, or (B) i can have antisocial friends who Get It, but they aren't actually true "friends" because they believe over half of my system (ie, the soulbonds and gateway--the spiritually-originated half of my system) isn't real or "[we] feel this way because of severe dissociation, but it's actually all part of [our] brain" (real thing someone--note: a singlet--said about our gateway to another person btw. right after we explained how we functioned. while we were still there. guess who was instantly thrown into a major dissociative spiral because someone we trusted essentially reality-checked us and treated us like we couldn't know our own brain and experiences?). there's just no winning!

*note: because you are actively misinterpreting the DSM and are willfully ignoring research that has been done on non-traumagenic systems. i'm about as anti-psych as it comes (for hopefully obvious reasons) but dude, even psychiatry doesn't agree with you, and you're pretending like it does because it makes you feel morally superior while you try to bludgeon people you don't like who have 0 power over you. pathetic and cowardly motherfuckers.

Personalization is a key symptom to D.I.D

research has shown that DID can form from trauma my take on this issue is that it is more about the thought patterns behind DID that create it. so rather then it just turning into PTSD/C-PTSD, there is an act of PERSONALISATION!

Putting personal meaning or value into characters or stories, and depersonalizing your memories often through embarrassment and envy this spiral can lead to D.I.D because you are placing someone else as more important to you to a point that you can't function without them similar to BPD.

It turns to a point where your memories are filled with their perspective such as if you were watching a series or game on repeat.

Ok wanna expand a little on that death threat thing actually-

This person we were "friends" with always was iffy about a lot of stuff like polyamory and plurality and neurodivergency (and depression, me and a friend of theirs brought up being mentally ill and they were like "um that's so weird???? You guys are SO weird like shut the FUCK up) yesterday we made a profile for one of our alters who had been really scared of actually telling people they exist (they're introject of a character a lot of people hate), but finally decided to show themselves and we sent it in this groupchat since they know about us and we want to keep our friends updated on who's there. So this brought up another discussion about mental disorders and stuff and like. They were REALLY pushing the "this is FUCKING weird" and everyone in this groupchat is some flavor of neurodivergent so everyone was like. Chill out??? Even their partner said "hey I'm literally bipolar?" When this person said "I didn't know any people with any disorders before this group so of course I'm weirded out because people with disorders are Different " and basically said "yes but you're my partner" which is??? SO weird???? Then I pulled out of the Convo because it was making us highly uncomfortable and gave the alter that started all of this a panic attack so. Yk. Then we check back in and our qpp is educating them like "hey it's. Actually VERY normal lots of people have it, you've been talking to them without noticing when they switch but they have cause I can tell since I've talked to all the alters before they're still normal people, if different people" and this person's reaction was saying "well I hope everyone who has this explodes" so of course my qpp was like "dude. What the fuck these are actual people if you're serious about this you're being seriously abelist" and this person dead ass said "well then guess I'm abelist because I was serious" which is??? WHAT THE FUCK???? Like your partner is RIGHT THERE they've got a disorder EVERYONE in half the group chats we were both in is some flavor of mentally ill to some degree are you INSANE???? Not to mention that fucking??? Hoping we die??? Is also kinda. Getting into topics like eugenics like dUDE WHAT THE FUCK

For all that anti-endos talk about how they’re the community that “actually respects trauma”, I have never seen one respect psychiatric trauma or abuse during hospitalizations. There is no consideration for why someone might prefer to view something non-medically even if it’s “technically a disorder for them”. Because non-medical plurality is an “icky endo thing”. I know I shouldn’t speculate on other people’s trauma or lack thereof. But I feel like they haven’t experienced what I have from these “professionals”. Because if they did would they really constantly argue for defending medicalization?

It does seem like they don't understand just how many people have been hurt at the hands of the psychiatric field...

Anti endos are so fucking insufferable and yet scary. Just got banned from 2 "inclusive" servers for a vaguely pro endo post i made like 5 months ago, several moots/friends essentially cut me off and now i have one in my dms screaming at me and calling me "ableist" and saying they dont care abt my trauma or disorders and that im just "making excuses" for wutever the fuck

I dont remember if it was on this blog that i shared being scared of telling our friends im not fully traumagenic due to them being anti endo but i have good news! i was under that impression from looking for the word "endo" in servers i share with them and finding things that upset me, but as it turns out i was wrong? its funny because i cant even find those messages anymore BUT REGARDLESS my friends were super understanding and said they were really sorry that they gave me the impression it would be an issue. so yay!!!!!!!!!!! i feel like its lifted this huge weight off my shoulders

Seeing anti endo people say that an endo groomed them and that's why they're anti endo is a bit scary honestly. I'm definitely not here to invalidate people who were groomed but it seems very akin to people who believe in narcissistic abuse. One person shouldn't represent on the entire community.
