My favorite genre of villains are the kind that seem like they walked onto the set of the wrong show, because they're significantly darker in tone than the rest of the show

As an example, the Care Bear franchise has a lot of these.

The Spirit emotionally manipulated an already emotionally neglected child into turning other children into evil minions so she could take over the world

No Heart is a dark sorcerer who almost ate a character while transformed into a Tiger, and clearly stated his intention to do so. He also regularly summons literal demons, and is implied to have killed a one-off villain for failing him.

In Professor Coldheart's first appearance, he turns children into emotionless frogs and enslaves them.

Dark Heart basically tried to kill a bunch of babies, and then engulf the world in darkness.

They all get defeated by little pastel stuffed animals that regularly take breaks to sing about their feelings and play in rainbows

... Except Dark Heart, who suddenly became good after his one and only friend nearly got killed because of him.

Wait who’s Coldheart?

Coldheart was the first ever care bears villain. like the very first care bears adaptation back in the 80s before No Heart

He was an evil ice wizard who, despite having magic, used machines against the care bears, much like Grizzle. His main goal was to freeze the forest of feelings to take it over and also steal all the warm, happy feelings from the children of earth and enslave them as his own personal servants. With the help of his assistant, Frostbite and wife, Auntie Freeze

In this au, he was Noheart's older brother and was frozen for centuries by his own magic after the final fight with the bears, making way for Noheart to oppose them

And he's still frozen in an icy mountain somewhere with Frostbite and Auntie Freeze, waiting for someone to free him

I'm not sure where you would stand on this guy in terms of strong interest, but Bruno Antony from Strangers on a Train strikes me as your flavor of off putting weirdo. He's a rich boy who coasts off his doting mother, family wealth and his charm. (This is also just a good, bit homoerotic movie.)

This one isn't certain because I haven't gotten around to more episodes, but I'm going through a Care Bears rewatch and I think I'd place a bet that you'd like Coldheart from the DIC series.

Everyone says that “Oh the Nightmare critters should have been called the Frowning critters” but we all know that a Frowning-based villain for The Smiling critters would be a mustache-twirling goofy ass old man named “Dr. Von Frownyface” or something
