y/n y/l/n was a quiet being. that was a well-known fact. she was the type of girl that isn’t “super model” pretty, but was in a natural kind of way. she didn’t have crazy big eyes and with full eyebrows with a button nose with full lips. she was natural. remus liked that.
she is extremely wise for someone her age. remus liked that, too. remus never really looked at her in any way other than as the girl he is paired with in potions… until one night:

Midnight Meetings
My OC Ella is a 6th year student and gets caught by her intriguing new DADA teacher in the Hogwarts kitchens the night after the Welcome Feast. Beginning of a slowburn Professor Lupin X Student fic.
_______________________________________________________________________
Ella whirled around at the sudden sound behind her and jumped at the shadowed sight of her Defense Professor. She gasped softly as her heart continued to pound against her chest. Her grip on her teacup faltered, sending the china clattering to the floor.
"Shit!" She murmured as the hot liquid began to soak into her shirt and pool at her feet.
Remus rushed towards the girl and hastily brandished his wand.
"Here, let me..."
But Ella had already cleared up the mess and stains on her shirt wordlessly. Remus raised an eyebrow, impressed at her skills. Some adult wizards have trouble with nonverbal magic, and it wasn't usually taught until the 6th and 7th years at Hogwarts due to its difficulty.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Are you alright?" Remus asked, looking over the girl carefully to make sure there wasn't any lasting harm or burns.
Her heart was still racing as she replied in a rush, "No, I'm fine. I just wasn't expecting anyone at this hour. Hardly anyone even knows how to get here anyway."
Remus nodded at her and placed his hands in the pockets of his striped pajama bottoms. He was once again struck by her eyes, which now gleamed at him like stars in the darkened light of the kitchens. "Well, as long as you're alright..."
"Ella." The girl introduced, holding out one of her dainty hands to him with a smile. If it was possible, her eyes lit up even more as she looked up at him. Remus returned the smile himself and grasped her hand in his own. It was soft and pale, cooler than his own calloused one. Remus released her hand quickly, hoping she hadn't noticed the deep lines marking his skin.
"I'm Remus. But I suppose it'll be 'Professor' once classes start in the morning." He answered with a slight chuckle. Ella's smile deepened as she nodded back at him. She hopped up on the counter behind her to have a place to sit, leaving Remus to lean his back against the gleaming table opposite of her.
"It's nice to meet you, Remus. Though I will say, I wasn't expecting to meet you like this." Ella replied, laughing slightly at herself. What an impression she must have made caught sneaking out of bed the first night back...not to mention spilling tea over herself.
Remus nodded, "I wasn't expecting to run into anyone down here myself. I didn't know students knew how to get down her." He raised a brow at her. She was surprised when she saw that his face was light, almost playful, instead of reprimanding.
"I don't think many do. Occasionally there will be a few hungry Hufflepuffs in here. and the Weasley Twins, of course. I would watch out for the pair of them tomorrow. They always have some prank to celebrate the first day back." Ella warned, but her eyes remained bright with amusement.
"Duly noted. Need I keep an eye on you as well?" He asked, maintaining the same playful manner as before.
Ella felt blood rush to her cheeks, but she was hoping it was from being caught breaking the rules instead of her professor's comment. She tried to focus on anything but the heat of her face as she smirked, "I think that would be a waste of energy. I don't usually make a habit of getting caught breaking the rules."
Remus couldn't help but be captivated by the way the right side of her face hitched in the corner. Her wide eyes and dimpled face were more than enough to transport him back in time. He had to fight against the images of four teenage boys sneaking around the kitchen under an invisibility cloak forming in his mind. He shook his head slightly to clear it, but he managed to keep the smile on his face.
"What would you call this, then?" He challenged playfully, gesturing between the two of them.
"Fate, I suppose." Ella replied with mock seriousness.
"You know, I have half a mind to give you detention. Wandering out past curfew at times like these..." His voice trialed.
"But you won't." Ella finished for him, the smile still bright in her eyes.
"What makes you so sure?" He jested, curious as to what she would say.
"I just like to think that I'm good at reading people. You aren't like most professors." She said with a shrug, but her confidence radiated though her words.
"Is that right?" Remus asked, but he noticed some anxiety starting to build in his stomach with Ella's words. Had she noticed his scarring? He couldn't do anything to mask the markings that ran across his face, but he was sure that his sweater hadn't revealed any of the angry lines across his arms and hands.
"Yes, most professors don't come to the kitchens with a craving for a late-night cup of tea." She quipped with a wink.
Remus breathed out a laugh at her words, relieved that his secrets had not been found out.
"You got me there."
Things were quiet for a minute. Ella looked over at the abandoned kettle and conjured up two fresh cups, wordlessly like before. She used a heating charm to heat the water again as tea bags appeared in the cups. Remus watched in amazement as he had before, impressed again with her abilities.
"Sugar?" Ella asked gently, effectively breaking Remus' reverie and the silence that had settled between them.
"Do you take sugar with your tea?" She clarified as she watched Remus struggle to recall the question. He must have really been lost in thought.
"Yes, three with cream if you don't mind."
Ella nodded and prepared her tea similarly. She usually preferred coffee to tea, but she still hoped to catch a few hours of sleep before breakfast started. Remus nodded appreciatively as she set the teacup in front of him. He took a sip and smiled in approval.
"The tea is perfect, thank you."
Ella tried not to blush in response to the compliment, looking away in embarrassment. She didn't usually know how to respond to praise, but she managed to return his smile bashfully. She took a drink of her own tea before modestly reply, "Thank magic then. I just had to wave a wand."
"Even so, you've displayed some quite advanced magic. You'll be one of my N.E.W.T. students, then?" He took another sip of his tea, leaving the cup half full.
Ella nodded before adding, "I'm starting my sixth year. Defense is one of my favorite classes, actually."
Remus smiled, "Well I hope I do not disappoint then. I would hate to ruin the subject for you."
"I'm not worried. Dumbledore was quite excited to introduce you as the new part of the staff." Ella smiled kindly
"I'm not sure I will meet his expectations, but I will strive to. Hopefully, his faith in my abilities will be proven correct by the end of term." Remus replied gently, though his ears were slightly pink from Ella's words.
"You haven't heard much about the disaster from the most recent Defense Professor, have you?" Ella joked.
"Dumbledore might have mentioned Lockheart turned out not to be the best fit for the posting..."
Ella laughed, "That would be an understatement. Leave it to my luck to be stuck with the dunderhead during my O.W.L year. I spent all year making my own study curriculum, since Lockheart's books were nothing better than poorly written fantasy novels."
Remus smiled at her passion for the subject. He knew teachers were not supposed to have favorites, but he already had a feeling that Ella would be one of his favorite students to teach.
"Something tells me you faired alright on your exams, thought?" He asked with an amused glint to his eyes.
Ella blushed again before admitting that she had gotten all O's. Remus had been expecting to hear of high grades given her displays of non-verbal magic, but he certainly hadn't expected to hear of such perfect marks.
"Maybe Dumbledore should have asked you to fill in as the Defense professor." Remus joked, hoping to cover up his disbelief.
"Who said he didn't?" Ella teased with a dazzling laugh, earning a grin from her professor. They had both finished their tea by now. The cups disappeared before Remus' eyes with the flick of Ella's wand.
"You make for lovely chat Sir, but I think I should be heading back to bed. Merlin knows what would happen if I am discovered by Snape or Filch." Ella said as she hopped down from her place on the counter.
"I believe you're right. We wouldn't want you to have to serve detention before the term has even started. Remus stood up straighter and ushered Ella ahead of him. The two exited the kitchen and watched as the portrait swung itself shut again. To the ordinary student, it once more looked like an innocent painting of a bowl of fruit among the backdrops of countless other magical portraits.
"Would you like me to walk you back to your common room?" Remus whispered, careful not to wake the images snoring in their frames. He worried that the brilliant girl really would get discovered on her way back to bed. Ella shook her head.
"As I said, I don't make it a habit to get caught." She smirked.
"Godspeed, then." Remus winked.
Ella smiled at him one last time and gave him a mock salute before heading back to Gryffindor Tower. She fought the urge to steal one last glance at her professor and continued out of sight.
Ella didn't know that Remus' eyes never left her as she exited the corridor. Even after she'd disappeared from sight, his eyes remained focused on where she stood. He was baffled by how this stranger felt so familiar to him. Remus wasn't sure how much time had passed before he headed down the opposite end of the corridor to his sleeping quarters. His mind was lighter than it had been in quite some time.

Mr. Jealous (Remus x Reader)
Summary: You are a new professor at Hogwarts. Your students like you, and you are getting along with your colleagues, too. Especially Remus Lupin. The Yule Ball is rushing towards the school, and the competition of requests has begun...
Word Count: 1286
You’ve just had your fifth class today. After the lesson, a handsome 6th year Gryffindor came to your table, and shyly asked if you want to be his date to Yule Ball. „Uhm... Hey, Professor L/N. I was wondering, if you could maybe... come to the Yule Ball with me?” I liked the boy, he was active in my classes and respectful to me, but... I didn’t really support the idea of going to the Ball with a student. „Hi, James. Thank you for asking, you are very kind, but I am afraid I can’t go to the Yule Ball with one of my students.” He was the second person who I rejected today. I don’t understand, I am not that pretty… I never was. Is that I am younger than the avarage? But if they think like that, they would be asking students. Is it because of my kindness? Does kindness have that much power? But no, it makes no sense. I am not the only kind one in here. Something flat and hard woke me up from my thoughts. Something that I bumped into. I looked up, and I saw the familiar, beautiful hazel eyes looking at me in worry. „Y/N, are you okay???” I realized, I hit the huge back of Remus. „Of course. I am sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” I smiled. He smiled back at me. „Do you want to have lunch with me?” I nodded, „Yes, anytime.” We headed to the Great Hall. It was obvious for him that I am in a good mood. „Why is the big smile? Did anything good happen?” He knows me well. We have known each other since September, but he just knows me so well. „I would say surprising. It’s the 3rd of December, and two boys have already asked me to the Ball! Actually, they both asked me today.”
Remus POV
When she told me two boys have already asked her, I almost fainted. Is this going to be that hard? A competiton? I expected some of them trying… She is breathtaking… But 2 already?! I thought while I freaked out inside. „D-Did you accept?” She glanced at me. „I did.” I almost threw my food. „Really?!” I shot my head in her direction. „No, dummy, why would I accept a students request? They can’t be my date. I talked about it with Dumbledoor.” I calmed down immediately, and started eating again. „You are jealous.” She chuckled at the realisation. „What?” She knows me so well. We have known each other, for like, three months? But she knows me so well. „You are so obvious. Your words can deny jealousy, but your actions can’t.” „I wasn’t. I already have a date.” The joy in her eyes suddenly disappeared. „Oh. Okay then. Congartulations!” She went silent after that, and only fake smiled when she greeted someone. „Hey, you are jealous.” She looked at me, and rolled her eyes. „I actually don’t have a date.” Suddenly she looked back at me. „What?” „See, you are jealous too.” She formed a cheeky evil smile, like she is going to say the best comeback ever. „Too. Jealous, too. Seems like you can’t deny your words eighter.” Damn.
Quite often, I think about how much it must have hurt Remus to hear Harry call him Professor Lupin when he was supposed to have watched the boy grow up and be called something along the lines of Uncle Moony.
