Been using reading glasses from Daiso for a couple of years cos I don’t want to spend so much as I only use it for work. Today I'm grateful for:

1. Everything bagels with veggie cream cheese.

2. my grandma's Hummel collection. They were in her china cabinet my whole life. I looked at them every time I visited her. They have been on display in my china cabinet for the last 20 years.

3. my dishwasher.

4. a day to work in my classroom without students.

5. the flashlight app on my phone. That thing is bright!

6. my purple Dyson vacuum cleaner. My oldest son got it for me for Christmas while he was in the Marines. He was so worried about giving it to me. He was concerned that I wouldn't like it as a gift.  I told him it was a beautiful gift from a son to his mother but never from a husband to his wife.

7. The Big Bang Theory. I love those geeky guys.

8. the remote control for the tv. I'm old enough to remember the days of having to walk up to the tv and turn the knob.

9. my piano and the one song I know how to play.

10. the spider plant in my classroom. It originally came from a sprout from the plant in another teacher's classroom. As it's grown, I've had to re pot it twice. At Christmastime my plant had enough sprouts to give to each of my students as a gift.

11. celery seeds that add just an extra touch to my chicken salad.

12. the little Buddha figure that sits on a shelf in my living room. A theater friend gave it to me a few years ago as a thank you for letting him stay with us for a weekend when we were doing a show together.

13. my grandma's rosary beads that are on the shelf next to the Buddha.

14. my movie books.

15. online classes.

16. progressive lens.

17. the fact that I don't suffer from allergies.
