Also, the current Lyoko in my AU is actually an amalgamation of two different virtual worlds: Lyoko 1.0, developed by Waldo before he joined Project Carthage, with the goal of testing his theories about matter-information conversion and using a quantum supercomputer to ‘hack’ reality (this is what got him hired by Project Carthage, which in my AU does a bit more than just monitor enemy communications, in the first place), is basically Sector 5; Xanadu, developed by Anthea before she joined Project Carthage, is essentially a simulated ecosystem intended to test theories about evolution, and this corresponds to the other four sectors of Lyoko
I'm not sure if it would work with the timeline at all, but imagine if Aperture Science was involved in Project Carthage
Code Lyoko writers be like
Okay, I just remembered the Looking Glass from the Season 4 Agents of SHIELD finale - and my reaction when I first saw it in action.
“Hey, she basically built one half of a scanner from Code Lyoko”
Anyway, remembering that today gave me the idea for a crossover fic between the MCU and Code Lyoko where the virtualization technology is developed from the remains of the Looking Glass, which are salvaged by Project Carthage (and you can probably guess who’s behind that in this version).
Anyway, if I go ahead with it, the year that Jeremy reactivates the Supercomputer would be 2053. I’m assuming that everyone who died in Infinity War gets brought back in Avengers 4, so there will be references to, and possibly cameos by, characters regardless of whether they died in that movie or not.
