The rain fell onto the concrete, providing some nice white noise to drown the dragon's racing thoughts. Even when in an empty lot between two nearly abandoned buildings, outside of the view of the humans passing through the city streets, there was still the possibility someone was watching. The rain's calming sound also proved a disadvantage, hampering the normally sharp hearing that would normally alert them of any trespassers. Trying to find any source of warmth, the seven meter long reptile settled for a rusty pickup truck, using it as a head rest.
Its stomach rumbled, both as a demand for more food and as retribution for having to forage through trash cans in order to find discarded scraps for six days in a row. Dragons weren't supposed to order an entire rotisserie chicken at the supermarket.
Ever since adopting this new form, they were completely barred from interacting with anyone. Last attempts at communication ended in an (unintentional) bone fracture, several police cars called, and a frantic scramble to get as far away from that place as possible. Despite having a tongue and teeth that could theoretically mimic human language, the new form of their snout prevented them from communicating in anything that wasn't snarls and growls. And most humans didn't respond well to a 100+ kg beast roaring at them, even if the intended message was "that hamburger you're eating right now look irresistible, and I haven't eaten anything other than leftover Doritos in days".
Not all was bad, though. If anyone got too aggressive with them, a well aimed claw could immediately end any unpleasant interaction. And, despite the obstacle they represented for human interaction, their sizeable wings and leg muscles were a pleasure to use, even if it was just for running around and clumsily gliding a few meters into the air.
"I could get used to this", they thought, curling their tail inwards, wings covering them for extra warmth. "All things considered, this is nice."
Their thoughts were down, their warm breath coming to a halt, when two human voices almost broke the dragon's first good sleep.
"Dude I fuckin' told you it was real! You owe me ten bucks and a bl-"
"W- what the hell is- is that...?"
The first human gave their partner a light punch. "Come on, don't tell me you're scared now! It's an actual dragon, how cool is that?"
At any given moment on Earth, somewhere, there is a sunset. Somewhere else, simultaneously, there is also a sunrise happening at the very same instant. And even further off on another planet, there is simultaneously another, wholly unique sunset and sunrise happening at once. These infinite dawns and dusks are happening everywhere, all across the universe, all at once. We are all always just on the very edge of our horizons: the infinite, impossible space between two moments of pure and absolute beauty.

League of Legends 10 Year Anniversary Reaction - WTF just happened??
Like many League of Legends fans in the EU last night, I was up to the early hours of the morning watching the live stream of “Riot Pls” announcing all the cool things that Riot Games has been working on behind the scenes all these years. A lot of people were expecting some news on their new fighting game and the new champion road map. But boy did we underestimate them.
--- Some of Fortiche’s stunning visuals. We also saw more 2D looking effects such as smoke implemented in the trailer, a theme which we’ve seen before in stuff like the Odyssey trailer and Battle Academia Skin line but which never fails to impress ---
Not only did we see some cool footage of Darius fighting Ahri (with some pretty sleek looking visuals) but then we were showed an ARPG (Project F), a card game, a mobile/console version of LoL and an totally seperate fps (Project A). Oh and like all that wasn’t enough, then they let us know that they’re finally making that animated tv series we’ve all been asking for which is being made by Paris-based Studio Fortiche who are quite honestly....superb.
I wanted to briefly reflect on what we saw just because Riot Games seems to be hell bent on making their game and universe accessible. The core player base to start with was quite focused on the competitive aspect of the game but as it grew in popularity we’ve seen a tonne of people get interested and invested in it for it’s characters and stories. For me personally, I’ve been wanting to see Riot create more stylised characters for a long time and they started to do this with their Unlocked figure range in the merch store.
It makes me super happy to see the characters developed in this way as it makes them appear much more striking. Games like “Marvel Contest of Champions” have a similar style and it’s very clean and sharp. It looks like Riot is really committing to these new visuals as what little we’ve seen on the fighting game appears to be consistent with this style also. And that makes me hopeful that we’ll finally start to see a larger variety of very cool looking figures so that one day, ONE DAY, I can have that badass looking Sion I’ve always wanted to plonk next to me on my desk.
Up until now, exploring Runterra’s rich history has been left up to beautifully made splash art for new champions and skins as well as some story-supporting art work. With the addition of “Legends of Runeterra” the card game, we’re now going to get to see a lot more of what’s going on in and around Runeterra. Characters that could and would never be implemented into Summoner’s Rift are now going to have their time to shine. I love trolls, so seeing more of Trundle’s kingdom is tantalising to me. There’s also a cool-ass looking wolverine-like gladiator that looks like it’s taking place in the same arena as Riven was in for the “Awaken” music video.
I think a lot of fans of League of Legends, quite understandably, can’t quite contain their excitement for what the next few years will have in store. It kind of feels like Riot Games is in a similar place to where Marvel was pre-Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and their venture into the film industry. Comics were deemed nerdy and being able to talk a bout those characters and stories in public with other people was almost taboo. But with Riot Games seeming set on world (certainly market) domination, it almost feels like there may come a day when you can say “so do you know League of Legends” to a complete stranger and there isn’t a strong possibility of them replying “errrr no, what’s that?”.
Oh and one more thing that’s great about all of this -
