TokuShipping Week 2026 is now canon on AO3! + TokuShipping 2027? + Other updates

First things first… TokuShipping Week 2026 is now a canonized tag on AO3! 🎉

It’s officially linked to the Tokusatsu and Power Rangers tags, which means you can now easily filter and find fanworks using it.

The only downside is that only the main event tag was canonized. The daily prompts ended up being registered as synonyms instead of separate tags, so unfortunately you can’t filter works by specific days.

Would I have preferred separate subtags for each day? Yeah, probably. But honestly, I’m just really happy this happened at all 😅

Still, it makes me really glad to see the event had enough impact for this to happen. (Fanlore page next, maybe? 👀)

Post-event survey highlights (21 responses!)

I also want to share a few key takeaways from the post-event form, especially the ones that could shape future editions.

The most important one: everyone said they felt safe participating. No hostility, no bad experiences.

That genuinely means a lot to me. Creating a welcoming and safe space was always the main goal, so knowing it actually worked makes me incredibly happy.

Second: every single person said they want the event to come back.

So… yeah.

I mean, I can’t really say no if that many people want it, right? 😉

So… what about TokuShipping 2027?

Nothing is set in stone yet, but here are some early thoughts:

• Themed day?

Very likely. Over 70% said they enjoyed it.

That said, quite a few people also asked for more variety, so I’m considering having one themed day plus a bonus prompt for that day. That would probably be the only day with four prompts total.

All other days will most likely stay at three prompts, since that had near-unanimous support.

• Will it stay a full “week” format?

This is something I’ll need to think about more.

While most people liked the full week format, many also mentioned wanting a slower pace. More time to create, share, and enjoy without pressure.

Because of that, I’m considering alternatives like a “BiWeek” or even a “Month” format. It would still be seven prompt days total, just more spread out.

This is something I’ll probably ask about in a future survey, but feel free to share your thoughts here too.

• Prompts for next year?

Also something for a future form.

I might reuse some 2026 prompts or bring back unused ones, but I’ll definitely be asking for input again.

• Social media presence

The event will continue across multiple platforms, though Tumblr will remain the main hub.

Twitter/X and Bluesky were the next most active.

Instagram had the least activity, which honestly doesn’t surprise me, it’s incredibly hard to find posts there now. I miss when hashtags actually worked 😓

Pixiv had almost no activity, only one person posted there last I checked.

As always, I’ll keep reblogging, reposting, retweeting, and bookmarking works across platforms. Just keep in mind that on less active ones, it may take me longer to find things.

And seriously, on Instagram especially, please tag me if I miss your post. It’s nearly impossible to track things there otherwise.

• What about TokuSmut?

Yes, it’s staying.

However, someone made a really good point: since the prompts were the same as the main event, there wasn’t much incentive for people to go wild with it.

So for TokuSmut 2027, I’m considering:

Keeping the main prompts

Adding a separate spicy bonus prompt

That way, you can base your works on the main prompts, the spicy one, or mix both however you like.

I think that covers everything… at least for now!

Also, some of you may have received a DM from me. Whatever you choose to do with it is completely up to you, keep it private or share it, your call.
