These pictures are failing to do this yarn justice; it’s a beautiful cotton-and-silk blue and a purple silk, both threadweight, that I plied together on my spinning wheel after liberating them from sweaters that had gone all sad and misshapen and left in a thrift shop to die. I’ve got two sweaters’ worth of this stuff all plied together.
Now what I need is a pattern. Time to dig into Ravelry and see what I can turn up with the filters

So, today I had the idea of starting a sorta blog magazine for Supernatural. I was going to run it with the other admin for this blog, but we're both so busy with college that the two of us ourselves can't run it. So, this is my proposal...
Who wants to be a part of the Supernatural Online Magazine?
First off, I should introduce myself. Hey, I'm Jess. I'm a 16 year old AS college student in the UK and I'm a HUGE fan of Supernatural. I have taken Media and English Lit in college (as well as film and history, but they're irrelevant to this) and I though of the idea of having a magazine while sat in my Media class. I wanted to improve my Media skills while helping my Lit writing skills as well.
So what will the magazine be about?
It'll be about Supernatural, obviously, but it'll be more than that. I want an interactive magazine, a thing that can get people involved, submitting their fan arts and their fanfictions, and giving them prompts and ideas to be creative while also giving them fun facts about the show.
But also, I want to build a team of people who love being creative and who are fair critics, people who will become friends because of their love for Supernatural. You could be part of this team! :D
I have thought of the different types of things this magazine could feature. I've sub-categorised them into interactive (viewer's getting involved) and factual (more about the show than the viewers). This is a list of the things I've thought of:
INTERACTIVE:
- Quiz
- Competition (Example: The best plot for an possible episode in only 3 sentences)
- Fan Art (Submitted by viewers)
- Fanfic (Best fanfiction sent in that month. Will be a short one shot)
- Reader's comments on certain topic (Like their thoughts of Sam being soulless in Season 6)
FACTUAL:
- Actor fact file
- Episode review
- Theory (Examples here: x x)
- Monster fact file
- Hunter's tips (How to do the skills hunters need. I made one a while ago here...)
- Recommendations (I want a page where we can put any fics or any blogs, etc, that we want people to know about.)
- Character fact file
- Ship review (we'll take this as a romance and a bromance)
- Crossover page (because I want to see Team Free Will as the Avengers!!!)
If you think of any more which would be good for the magazine, the please tell me. Please also tell me if you really don't like any ideas...
How's the magazine going to work?
This is the blog where the magazine will be. It's pretty empty at the moment, but we can work with that later. We can think of a better URL later (maybe think of a better name than Supernatural Online Magazine...)
The magazine is a monthly thing, or maybe bi-monthly, and will be posted all together as one post. Now, this is the part where we need team effort.
If you would like to join the team, then please contact me HERE. We need editors, writers, artists... We need as much variety as possible. We'll all work together and help each other to bring this magazine to life. I will assign you a role which will work best with your abilities.
We need at least 10 people helping with this project. I don't think it'll work with any less, unless we all have a shed-load more work on our shoulders, and as a college student, I don't want that. I am good at organising everything, but I can't expect you all to do everything!
The way our readers will send us their pics and fics will be at this email: [email protected]. We'll make sure we mention the email address a lot in the magazine so we get a lot of response.
How much work will you have to do?
Dependant on how many people join us on our mission, it will hopefully won't be that much. For those who are writing the articles, each article will be around 200-500 words. For those who will want to be editing and designing, the work load may be a bit bigger, but you'll have the help of the other people working on this project.
Why be involved with the magazine?
Well, as well as bumping up followers on your personal blogs and making friends, you'll be gaining valuable skills that are important for anyone wanting to work in any form of media or written employment. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of something awesome and fun! You won't regret it!

Why's there so much drama tonight- I really don't understand it all. I'll give someone a free hug pass, and like say, ten dollars to tell me all that's happened?
I've decided to hand out presents early seeing as my parents are almost here, and I'm going to have to tend to them once they arrive. So I mean, come forth and claim your presents!
Oh God- my dad just called, he said he's coming over for Christmas? I thought my holidays were actually going to be decent this year, but I guess not. Anyone wanna' help entertain them with me, or am I in this alone?
