Seven Sentence Someday

Another one! This time I was tagged by @illarian-rambling <3

I've been workshopping some scenes between my darling loves - Rowan and Killeen - from Project.Ink, because I am nothing more than a hopeless lesbian. Here's one I particularly enjoy lmao.

A strange sort of satisfaction filled her chest as the woman in her lap was rendered speechless, her eyes wide and her mouth hanging slightly open, as if she was surprised to hear reverence in Killeen's voice. As if she wasn't used to such a thing. "I like feral animals." Killeen murmured softly, her eyes sweeping over Rowan's face again, taking in her startled expression. "And I understand feral animals... I know how to touch them, how to talk to them, how to make them purr..." Her voice was treacherous - smooth as silk in motion, coarse as leather in texture, and stinging as smoke in the way it tasted against Rowan's lips. The younger woman wondered if this was how Killeen might have been, in another life, if the world hadn't pressed its teeth into her hard enough to leave marks beneath her skin. Perhaps she would have been softer, had she not been forged in the crucible of other people's wants.

Seven Sentence Sunday

(On a Thursday, no less.)

I'm so back! Hello bitches, yes I was tagged in this 50+ days ago, no I don't know if any of my moots are even active anymore, YES it's been ROUGH. Anywaysssss

Here's some Project.Ink for y'all while I find my way around this hellsite again.

Rowan's attempts at casual conversation were met with responses that bordered on scripted, as if the very words were rehearsed. When Rowan retired to her room, a sense of isolation settled in, smothering. The walls seemed to whisper secrets, and the floorboards creaked with the weight of unspoken truths. She glanced out of her window, a view of the dense forest beyond the village. ‘The Grey’ the townspeople called it. Her parents had warned her countless times about the dangers that lurked within those ancient trees, emphasizing that no curiosity should lead her astray. Yet, tonight, as the moon cast a gossamer glow upon the woods, an inexplicable yearning tugged at the edges of her consciousness.

I want to say Nevaeh (Project.Seraph) because it is literally against everything she stands for and her entire moral code of ethics, HOWEVER, push a gal too hard and she's bound to snap at some point, ya know?

Realistically, my sweet darling angel baby Rowan (Project.Ink) literally would never harm a fly. She's the kind of person who'd feel too guilty to squish a bug, she doesn't really have a temper and she's just a dainty little thing. Besides, she's got her butch lesbian warrior fae gf to do the dirty work for her 🤷🏻‍♀️

Killeen approached the altar, her every step weighted with the gravity of what had transpired. She gazed upon Rowan, who lay pale and disheveled, her eyes vacant and haunted. The connection forged by the ritual had been abruptly severed, leaving Rowan's mind in a state of disarray.

The girl's chest rose and fell in uneven breaths, each one a testament to the toll the spell had exacted. Killeen, her hands trembling with residual energy, extended a hesitant touch toward Rowan's shoulder. The contact was tentative, as if unsure whether the remnants of the forbidden ceremony lingered in the very air between them.

The atmosphere remained charged with tension as Killeen sought to understand the consequences of her actions. The room itself seemed to hold its breath, caught in a liminal space between the mystical and the corporeal. The Eldritch symbols etched into the walls still pulsed, feeding on the tension.

(Project.Ink) Although in the back of her mind Rowan knew exactly what she was approaching, she refused to let herself believe what she was seeing until the glow of the early dawn sun began to cast shards of colour onto the rotting pine needles underfoot. Pinks and reds stained the earth, languidly bleeding into the ground. Stained glass windows – or remnants of them – still clung to fragmented wood frames and crumbling stone archways. Her heart stopped and her head span. In her dreams, the church had been resplendent and ornamented, gilded and imposing in its looming grandeur.  It wasn’t hard to imagine the pews filled with worshippers, caught in the throes of fervent exaltation. In person, it was a deteriorating memory of the hallowed halls that had commanded devotion long before Rowan even came to be. The carcass had been picked clean and only the bare bones were left, jutting at sharp, splintered angles and still bathed in the sanguineous glow from above.

Rewrite: Fear, once burrowed deep within his chest, was now pulsing and writhing like a creature clawing it's way out from between his ribcage.

Your line: The air in the ancient chamber was thick with the scent of burning incense, the acrid smoke winding its way around Killeen as she prepared for the forbidden ritual.
