Road to family
All the stuff that was alluded before. Things Helena mentioned and the ones we saw at the end of her indoctrination. This time we saw it in fashbacks. The initial punishment that got her the bleached hair. The box the nuns put her in. And most of all Tomas.
It was such a shock to see Tomas again but of course he would be there. He was such a big part of Helena’s life. All the lies he fed her about her sisters on behest of Proletheans. Until she killed for him and realised she is one of those he made her kill. That they have her face. And then he told her the final lie. That she is the original.
But she still mourned them - we see the first cut. We see the last one when she tries to kill herself out of guilt for what she did but also because she feels like she is failing her children. Coady tells her she is unfit to be a mother and says she will take them away and raise them. And when Helena realises she can’t escape she knows she cannot allow her babies to be raised as experiments.
This have damaged to much of Helena’s family already. What Coady did to Castors. What Neolution did to Rachel. What Tomas did to her. He might have filled her head with religious nonsense but it was because he hated the clones and Neolution. In the end she was just an experiment to him too. Better dead then that future.
But, of course, Helena has nine lives and she is never more dangerous then when she is cornered. Once she knows her family is coming for her (and that means all of them - from Rachel to Sarah and from Scott to Art) she is not planning to wait. She kills Coady (finally!) and she and Sarah were ready to run but that’s when her waters broke. Some things can’t wait.
Also how adorable was little Helena eating? No matter the circumstances the there is always time for food.
