Promptember Prompt 25- Broken Bone

Whumpee is beaten until something snaps... Maybe a rib? Their arm? It didn't matter. The pain was all encompassing agony.

Character has to power through a broken bone because no one has the time to look them over in all the chaos.

Walking on a broken ankle, only making it so much worse. Maybe they were forced? Maybe they are simply too proof to admit they are hurt?

Whumpee falls from a tremendous height and they should feel lucky that they lived, but they are laid up with serious injuries and several broken bones. Death seems so much setter than that pain.

Whumper wants information from Caretaker and Whumpee just has so many nice bones to break.

Promptember Prompt 29- Stabbed

Character is stabbed in the back and trying to dress it alone/stoic untrusting character has to let Caretaker dress the wound.

Whumpee is stabbed, but it's so much worse than they thought. The blade had been poisoned...

Character is stabbed with an unusual object like a pencil or fork. Needless to say, they didn't see it coming.

Immortal whumpee is stabbed repeatedly... It won’t kill... But it sure does hurt...

Character has to stab themselves to prove a point or maybe to satisfy Whumper.

Scars from being stabbed... Some more painful to look back on than others.

Promptember Prompt 21 - Whumpee/Caretaker Language Barrier

Caretaker is trying to help a very panicked Whumpee when they're seen by someone who sees Caretaker hauling around an injured, frightened Whumpee and thinks Caretaker is responsible. Due to a language barrier, Whumpee doesn't know if they can trust Caretaker and also can't explain that they were hurt by someone else.

Whumpee is badly injured in the middle of nowhere, and Caretaker finds them and nurses them back to health. They can't speak the same language, but they find ways to communicate with each other and grow close.

An injured royal manages to escape their captivity in a foreign, hostile land, and they're found by Caretaker. Whumpee can't communicate the boundless fortunes that await Caretaker if Whumpee is returned home safe and spends the days of their recovery looking for a way out and dreading the day the soldiers come looking for them. Caretaker is very concerned about the poor, injured foreigner who seems to be just a bit crazed as they pace/hobble from one wall to another and back day after day.

Caretaker can understand Whumpee's language, but can't speak it either due to magic, vocal disability, or an indecipherable accent. Caretaker tries to assuage Whumpee's concerns, but does...does not do a good job.

Whumpee is sick or injured in a way Caretaker can't detect, and Whumpee just cannot get Caretaker to understand what they're trying to ask for.

Promptember Prompt 1 - Headache

Headaches are versatile tools of whump, ranging from low-level pain to the main event.

A sick character has had a sinus headache all day and just wants to go lie down, but they can't.

The character walked away from their bad decision with nothing but a lump on their head--not even a concussion. Someone else wasn't so lucky.

Character A has a headache, so they put their head in Character B's lap, fully trusting that they will be given head pets and whispered sweet nothings. Bonus points if this is the first time Character A has sought out comfort, or if Character B finds Character A hiding out of the way so as not to disturb anyone and lavishes them in affection and care.

Character A gets a migraine, but the whumper force them to work anyway to the point of vomiting and collapse. Bonus points if another character starts screaming at the whumper in A's defense...but hearing that screaming hurts as much as working.

Character A gets horrible migraines any time they're stressed. Light and sound feel like knives stabbed into their head. Character B hushes everyone, or, if that's impossible, drapes their coat over Character A's head to block as much light and sound as they can.

Character A gets horrible migraines, but someone intent on their death or kidnapping is chasing them, forcing them out into the daylight and making so much noise. Parkour between buildings, hopping fences, pushing through crowds, running through the woods, leaping over streams. Any normal evasion becomes 1000% harder when the sun and every noise is stabbing your head, and you can feel the impact of every footfall through your whole body. Character A ducks behind a dumpster and leans their head against it, not caring how disgusting it is, only caring that the cold gives just the briefest relief and blocks the light. Bonus points if they have to protect someone injured or much younger than they are.

Promptember Prompt 7 - Hiding the pain

Oh sure, everyone can see that Whumpee is injured, but it doesn't seem to be bothering them much. Whumpee is quick to help with anything they can and wait till everyone else has been taken care of, so surely they can't be injured that badly. Whumpee keeps pushing themselves till they collapse or till Caretaker drags them to get medical attention.

Whumpee is a magic healer who can't actually heal anyone. They can only heal themselves, but they can heal themselves from any injury, and they can magically absorb someone else's wounds into their body. Whumpee's friend's bullet wound is gone from their body and now on Whumpee's. Whumpee doesn't tell anyone about this or leads everyone to believe that they heal a lot faster than they actually do.

Injured Whumpee is well known for always smiling, and so when they are hurt, that's all they focus their energy on so no one will notice anything is off.

Whumper wants to see the pain on Whumpee's face, and Whumpee will die before they give Whumper that satisfaction.

Whumpee is heavily injured, but they're the only one who scares Antagonist enough to make them back off. Whumpee can't afford to show a weakness while they're bluffing, or their friends and family are in danger. Bonus points if Antagonist knows them well enough to spot the bluff.

Whumpee does their best to distract themselves from the pain with anything they can until they collapse.

Promptember Prompt 30 - Blinded

Whumpee is hit with a blinding spell. Their biggest fear is of the dark, and now they're trapped in it.

The hero is temporarily blinded by dust/chemicals in their eyes, and they're led to safety by who they assume is their friend. They follow willingly as their head is pushed down under a sink and someone turns the water on, and they let themself be held still with their eyes under the water till their savior turns the water off, hands them a towel, and steps back. When the hero dries off their face and looks up to thank their friend, they find themself staring at the villain.

Whumpee is forced to choose between their friend's life and their vision. They choose their friend, and Whumper makes good on their threats.

A teenager slips their parent a potion that makes someone physically blind as they are metaphorically. Frustratingly, the parent's vision gets better than it was before. The teenager accidentally ingests some of the potion and goes completely blind.

The villain's orphaned sidekick is blinded during a fight with the heroes, but what distresses them more than the fact that they've lost their vision is the idea that the villain won't want them around anymore and will send them away. The villain, who secretly considers themself a #workingsingleparent, meanwhile, is evaluating every aspect of their hideout to make sure it's accessible to their child sidekick.

Promptember Prompt 27 - Left Behind

It's a choice between saving one people and saving four others, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt both the escapees and the injured one they had to abandon.

Whumpee was separated from their friends as a hostage when they were all captured to keep the others from trying to escape. The others decide they have to escape anyways, leaving Whumpee in the clutches of Whumper.

Whumpee was always the weakest, the smallest, the least useful, the least loved, so it makes sense that their family abandoned them instead of one of their siblings when the going got tough.

Whumpee has been abandoned a dozen times before and wakes up from a nightmare to find that they're alone in the house. Caretaker comes back from the store an hour later to find Whumpee crying silently by the door.

Promptember Prompt 19 - Falling Asleep on Someone

After a battle, two soldiers fall asleep leaning against the wall and wake up leaning on each other. Bonus points if they were rivals up till this point.

Character A has never been trusted--for good reason--but now, after they've turned a corner and changed sides, they help the heroes rescue a little child who falls asleep on their shoulder. Character A is in awe of the trust this tiny little person has put in them and takes so much care not to wake the tiny little person. Character B gets a harsh glare as they approach, but A relents and says a quiet thank you when B is only bringing a blanket for the child.

Whumpee is so tired as they're dragged into the car that they fall asleep, waking up leaning on Whumper, with Whumper's nimble fingers carding through their hair.

Character A falls asleep on Character B, who refuses to move for any reason until A has woken up. It took B so long to get A to fall asleep.

Whumpee doesn't realize that they trust caretaker till the fall asleep leaning against Caretaker, and Caretaker doesn't move or leave or get mad about the drool or take the opportunity to hurt Whumpee.
