"Woah," He muttered under his breath when his eyes landed on you.

After some finagling with your pretty lace, and his brand new pajama pants, you were straddling him on the couch, riding him nice and slow just like you knew he liked.

You giggled a little, pulling him up slightly so you could kiss him as you picked up your pace slightly.

The Greatest Gift

Written for @spnisthewayoflife’s Promptmas. Small stories that connect into a larger but still very small story. First part is here.

He's immediately ashamed about it, but Dean's first reaction is to run. The shock is too massive, his emotions a weltering riot in his head and his chest. His first sight of his little brother's face in half a lifetime makes him flinch, skull snapping back like he's just been socked in the jaw.

His thoughts swim. The edges of his vision tunnel and blur as he feels himself start to pass out. Sam leads him, woozy brain and wobbly legs, to an overstuffed couch and tells him to put his head between his knees.

It's a testament to how off-kilter he is in this moment that he doesn't even bother to try to think of a dirty joke to make in reply. He just folds himself over and tries to remember how to breathe like a normal person.

Eventually, his faculties come back on line one by one. He sits up, looks around the room at the faces hovering over him, blinks hard, and croaks, “explain.”

Sam tells the story, then, with some help from Cas. How his wife(!!) Eileen had helped him to move past his stubborn pride and reach out after years of missing his brother. How Cas had been the one he'd contacted, finding him listed as Dean's partner on Facebook.

“I figured he was a safer bet,” his brother admits. “In case I still wasn't welcome. If he'd told me to back off, I wouldn't have pushed.”

The two of them had concocted the plan of a holiday road trip, and a surprise reunion.

“You even got my staff in on it?” Dean marvels.

“Not all the way in on it, no,” Cas replies. “But I strongly and repeatedly hinted that you deserved some time off. They were very receptive to the idea, of course. From there it was simply a matter of–”

“Of leading me halfway across the continent under false pretenses,” he finishes, dazed. “Baby, I take back everything I said about your acting. You are an amazing actor. That you got me this far before I started to see the cracks? You are the king. I will never believe a word out of your mouth again.”

“Thank you, love,” Cas replies, pleased and proud.

By this time Dean feels fully like his head is attached to his body again, and he stands up to hug his brother, and then his sister-in-law, and then his husband for good measure. It's late afternoon on Christmas Eve, and his family is suddenly bigger than it's ever been before.

“Best fucking Christmas present ever,” he declares gruffly, blinking back happy tears.

Castiel stood in front of the window, cradling a red coffee cup between his hands, the steam rising in lazy curls. He was wearing a comfortably warm blue fluffy robe. He took a long sip of coffee, squinting out at the swirling snowflakes with exaggerated displeasure.

"Well, isn’t this just perfect," he said, his voice thick with mock enthusiasm.

"Being snowed in. Because I definitely had nothing better to do than stand here in my pajamas, drinking coffee, while the whole world decides to take a nap." He stared out at the snow, then sighed.

"I am living the dream."

I was sitting in front of a blazing fire. The rest of the group huddled around as well. Snow poured down, laying a nice thick blanket of pure white snow around us. Normally, I would love the snow as it sets the mood for Christmas time. However, now it is a sign of death. It was a sign that we were all going to die soon.

The farm had gotten overrun about a month ago, leaving us homeless, sleeping on the sides of the road and in storage units. It was around Christmas, it just had to be, and I was going through some type of seasonal depression. Maybe it was because I'd never experience Christmas ever again, or maybe it was because I was freezing to death. I feel a hand press against my shoulder. I turn my head to see Daryl sitting down next to me, a small fleece blanket in his hand.

He hands it to me. "What's this for?" I ask, brows furrowing together. "Merry Christmas," he mutters as the soft fleece touches my fingertips. It was covered in a thin layer of dust, but it still looked brand new. My head cocks to the side, I unfold it and drape it over the lower half of my body. The blanket instantly relieving the painfully cold and numb feelings in my legs. "You want some?" I whisper as I try pulling the blanket over his legs as well. "Nah I'm good"
