There was that post going around (that I'm too lazy to find) about the mother who gave her son a shovel to go dig and his whole mood improved.

In a no capes AU that would 100% be Bruce with Dick.

Bruce, intellectually, knew that children were high energy. He understood that adopting Dick meant a great number of life changes and responsibilities. He didn't expect the tornado of energy that was Dick.

See, Dick, being a circus kid, was used to always moving, doing having a task. If he wasn't performing he was practicing. If he wasn't practicing he was helping around the circus. Even on the road there were uniforms and nets to mend and animals to tend to and-- well, Wayne manner is all very calm, isn't it? And poor Dick is hurting and angry and needs to do something.

The gym Bruce installs help, but that isn't enough-- that isn't a task.

One day, in a fit of exhaustion and much needed rest, Bruce goes out to the shed attached to the garage, grabs a shovel, and hands it to Dick.

"Alfred is planing to plant a vegetable garden, why don't you help him dig the plots."

And Dick is off like lightning.

Alfred raise one far too judgemental eyebrow at Bruce. "Am I now, Master Bruce?"

"Hn."

They quickly learn that they have to tell Dick very clearly where to dig and how deep or they'll have to get a ladder and pull him out of a hole halfway to the cave system under Wayne manner.

(Bruce has nightmares that night about Dick being lost to the caves.)

And so the manor gains a garden, Dick learns how, a bit, to be a child outside of the circus, and Bruce actually gets to do some work. It's several months later when Alfred comes to Bruce.

"While I understand that the garden has been useful.... enrichment for Master Richard, I do think that perhaps you should inform him to stop digging."

"Wonderful timing, Alfred. I'm about to be in China for a month. I'm sure that I could extend the trip to two, maybe three months if I tack on some service work in South East Asia and visits to old friends."

"...perhaps an orchard wouldn't be remiss."

Just thinking about a version of the Blind Faith au where it's ford burning Stan's eyes so he can't see the eyes trying to take his brother and the 'eyes' taking Ford's voice so that the stan twins play their game without cheating. So this other voice which feels kinder, softer talks to Stanley about how they can fix them if they listen to the eyes and complete their game. Stan asks how they would fix him and his brother and they say they will take what is broken and fix it. So stan and ford complete the game by finding eachother and fall through a dimensional rift.

Only to find out stan doesn't have any eyes at all it's just smooth skin and ford doesn't have a mouth also just smooth skin. The voice comes back and stan yells that this wasn't part of the deal and that they were supposed to fix the issue.

And their only reply is

"I did your eyes and mouth were hurting you so I took them and fixed what was left you are better for it are you not?"

Red String Of Fate —But Different

I just thought of this. 

Normal Soulmates with the Red String of Fate AU, But with a twist. 

Instead of the String being attached to each soulmate’s finger, it’s tied around their necks? And the more one(or more?) of the soulmates hates the other, the tighter the string becomes around the other’s neck (or both of them?), and it can end up making it hard to breathe for the other, or even suffocating them death. 

So, I though about this: 

The moment L’Arc had realized he and Naofumi were soulmates, had been the exact moment he, Therese, and Glass had been teleported back to their world. In that exact moment, he’d been seen the red string around his neck, the other end tied around Naofumi’s. 

L’Arc had then realized his mistake. He’d betrayed his soulmate, a man who’d trusted him, despite his trust isses from a former betrayal. He regretted is without question. 

As he’d appeared in his world with Therese and Glass, he’d reached up to touch his neck, expecting the string to tighten around it, but it was still loose. L’Arc expected that Naofumi was just in shock. As time went on, L’Arc anxiously waited for the time that the string would tighten around his neck. It never came. 

As L’Arc, Therese and Glass goes back to Melromarc’s world, L’Arc decided to try and find Naofumi, and find out why the string on his neck was still lose as ever. 

L’Arc end up meeting Naofumi alone in a forest, and as they talk, Naofumi admits that he just can’t get himself to hate L’Arc, even if he wants to.

Protective boyfriend Jungkook who feels the need to keep Taehyung close to him whenever they go anywhere together, so that anyone who dares glance at his precious knows who he belongs to.

HC: TheRuFumi making Gingerbread Houses

Naofumi + Therese: It turns out very well. They followed the instructions but put extra icing on just because and a ton of sprinkles. 

Naofumi + L’Arc: It goes pretty well despite L’Arc trying to eat most of the icing. Naofumi also ended up with a heart of icing on his cheeks and icing on his lips because L’Arc kept kissing him while he tried to make the thing. 

L’Arc + Therese: The thing is just barely standing. They had too much fun drawing with icing on each other and licking the icing off each other after to have enough to actually make the house. 

All 3: It goes pretty well. They brought extra icing but they all end up with icing in their faces and a bit in their hair. They end up putting too much sprinkles on the thing. They also end up licking or kissing off the icing on each other, which leads to making out, which might end up leading to all of them completely forgetting about the gingerbread house.

Lovers to Enemies

(I just found out about this Ship dynamic, and I just—POTENTIAL!)

L’Arc and his two companions, Therese and Glass, had come back during another wave after betraying Naofumi at Cal Mira Archipelago. Naofumi had known that Motoyasu, Itsuki and Ren weren’t nearly strong enough to fight the three, and took it upon himself and his Party to stall them until the the other three could Kill the Boss Monster and stop the Wave. 

After narrowly avoiding death and keeping the three otherworlders at bay for some time, the Wave finally began disappearing as the Motoyasu, Itsuki, Ren and their Parties came over to assist Naofumi. 

But, they basically just stood by as Naofumi, Filo, and Raphtalia kept the three at bay for a couple of minutes more before L’Arc, Therese, and Glass began disappearing. 

When the three disappeared, Naofumi could finally relax a bit and catch his breath. While he did so, standing with his hands on his knees, Motoyasu came stomping over. 

“You were flirting with him?!” The Spear Hero had shouted, shocking almost everyone

“... What?” Naofumi had asked in confusion, before silently realizing something

“You were flirting with the Enemy while you were fighting?!” Motoyasu shouted again

“I was not.” Naofumi deadpanned before saying thy didn’t have time for this, they had to get rid of the last monsters

Whether he’d been flirting with L’Arc or not was his secret, and no one needed to know. Though, there was a reasong for it, a secret he would take with him to the grave. 

During their time at Cal Mira, Naofumi and L’Arc had ended up having a little, fun. The two had gotten close, which led to secretly wandering hands under the table at the Party, which quickly led to the two sneaking away a random inn and spending the night together. 

L’Arc had taken Naofumi’s first time. But Naofumi wasn’t ever going to tell anybody that. That would be their secret till the ends of time. 

Though Naofumi had been devastated when L’Arc and Therese had betrayed them, he understood why they did it. They had a world to protect, and many people precious to them in their world. Naofumi had been taken from his world, and only held Raphtalia and Filo, maybe even Melty, close to his heart while pushing everyone else away. He didn’t care about this world, he only protected it for the Girls’ happiness. 

But, L’Arc still had a special place in his heart. Somewhere filled with both Love, sadness, and anger, but no hate. He just couldn’t bring himself to hate L’Arc, despite what the scythe user did, and their current relationship. 

Naofumi couldn’t bring himself to hate L’Arc, despite now being enemies. 

And L’Arc knew this. He’d seen the look in Naofumi’s eyes during their fight. 

They were enemies, but they couldn’t bring themselves to hate or hurt each other.

Kabedon

L'Arc does Kabedon on Naofumi, holding up a paper from Naofumi's notebook that he'd thrown out. On the Note is Naofumi's mindless doodles of L'Arc name with hearts, their names together in a heart, and a small drawing of the two of them together, holding hands.

Naofumi blushes, thinking he'd thrown it out. When L'Arc smugly asks what it is, Naofumi stutters as he blushes, saying he doesn't know.

L'Arc smirks at him, asking again, but before Naofumi can say anything, L’Arc leans in and presses his lips on Naofumi's, making Naofumi blush and kiss back.
