Hot damn, I’m getting a press! (Thank you William! You’re the best husband.)
Found an bargain on Ebay since the Write-A-Sign is less well known than the Lin-O-Scribe. It comes with type too, OMG. (These photos are from the listing.)
Now I have to wait a week or so for this guy to arrive from Idaho. Eeeeee.
My understanding is the Write-A-Sign series uses rubber type with magnets somewhere in them. So the small mixed lots of lead type I’ve been collecting may not be compatible with this since it’s probably a different height. But I’m going to be doing way more linocut now that I could run it through a press rather than hand burnish each print by hand with a baren. And maybe start doing some polymer plate again too once I figure out the backing depth necessary. Also saw that someone was using their Write-A-Sign for monotype.
