Finished my staser! For reference, here's one of the original staser props from Deadly Assassin.

Gather the materials: 1/2 inch acrylic, tiny co2 cylinders, aluminum pipes, lamp power switches, red duct tape, red cord, printout of original prop photo.

Suit up with mask and safety goggles while cutting aluminum and acrylic. They both produce nasty fumes and dust. Acrylic also wants to melt every 2 seconds despite using a jigsaw blade designed for cutting plastic. Discover that my cheap dremel won't work on acrylic. Use hand files to refine the staser shape (didn't get pics of that because i was too busy listening to Gallifrey while filing).

Spray paint the black sections and the red co2 canisters (after ignoring the warnings and puncturing them so there's no actual compressed gas in the build).

I forgot to take more progress pics but here it is all glued together!

Scrapper

Another post-apocalyptic prop gun I finally got around to finishing. It was mostly done already. I just had to touch up some of the paint and them seal it.

Not sure what kinda gun this would be. Maybe some kinda shotgun or something. Or an SMG? It has a clip, but the barrel is really wide.

Maybe a comically inaccurate SMG? I don't know.

It can also do this.

It needs to be done in exactly a week, and we are gonna get there. It still needs some weathering, and the pleather on the handle, but that’s it. A friend has encouraged me to enter the Friday Video Game Costume Contest, so I’m considering that.

The paint is a little more glittery than I anticipated, and I do like that.

I.. started this like 3 weeks ago with the very good intention to work on this continously till over the month to have it done for Connichi. And the first days went really well, despite ungodly amounds of sanding dust.

And then II had to start on the more organic shapes and foam clay part. And now Connichi is in like 2 weeks and I really gotta hurry, if I want to have it done. >__>
