It needs to be done in exactly a week, and we are gonna get there. It still needs some weathering, and the pleather on the handle, but that’s it. A friend has encouraged me to enter the Friday Video Game Costume Contest, so I’m considering that.

Berserker Hunter Bow from Horizon Forbidden West

Ahhhh!!! It’s done! I love how much this looks like a creepy spine. The Quen armor and weapons are SO GOOD ✨

I learned so many new skills for this and honestly it’s some of my best work ever. It may not look that complex but I spent a good 78 hours building it 🥲 Working with acrylic pipe, resin casting, foam, 3D modeling, fabric manipulation, and magnets!

This is also the first time I made a prop that breaks down into smaller pieces even though I planned to do it in the past multiple times 😂 Over time I’ve gained a lot of patience and foresight into planning my builds.

After a bit of a dry spell where I dealt with a lot of real life nonsense, I found myself back in the studio this weekend. I’ve begun my next cosplay project - Marisha Ray’s Laudna on Critical Role got a new look, so I must make it!

While I wait for a few more things to arrive before I begin work the dress, I started in on the wooden house backpack… and it is already complete! It took 24 hours start-to-finish and it weighs less than 4 oz.

I need more projects like this in my future, I really enjoy this kind of model making/fabrication.

It’s mostly cardboard (Amazon boxes) under EVA foam, but it will be able to hold things as a backpack! I love heat carving EVA foam, it’s almost therapeutic. Smells horrible though - always wear a respirator!

So I just wanted to share a few pictures of my 2021 cosplay. I made the full gerudo vai outfit and the Champion tunic. I was happy with the results given I made both a month before the con. 3 days before we went, I decided to make the damaged master sword which I love to this day.
