Hi! I dig your prop kit. I've used the Krylon brand spray adhesive before, but I personally prefer to use 3M brand Super 77. I find it gives a more industrial hold either krylon or elmers. And their Super 78 is essentially the same, but will also hold (most) foam without dissolving. Just in case you haven't encountered them before :) -Jared

Super 77 is great! I'm not as familiar with Super 78. I usually use that for a little more permanent things, compared to using Krylon. Krylon holds well, but most of the time, I can still pull apart whatever I used it on and not cause too much damage.

Thank you for bringing up Super 77! I didn’t think of it, and it comes in handy a lot. :)

Prop Maintenance Kit

This here is my kit, which I mainly use to fix up anything that gets broken at the theaters, as the shops there don’t always have what I need, and the prop shop is a good 15 minutes away from our theater spaces.

Everything lives in my Husky tool bag. In it, I have:

Work gloves

Sharpies- thick and thin versions, and usually in more colors than just black

Self-adhering Velcro

Spray adhesive- I recommend the Krylon brand, Elmer’s doesn’t hold as well

Super glue- which I don’t usually use often. I have a love/hate relationship with super glue.

Glue sticks

E6000- a type of liquid adhesive great for keeping things fairly flexible, paintable, and is waterproof

Clear Mounting Tape

Command Strips (I swear by these)

Vise grips

Needle nose pliers

A tape measure

An assortment of nails and push pins

Disposable gloves

An eyeglasses repair kit

A paint key

A grommeting set (the actual tool isn’t pictured, I accidentally left it at work)

Fabric scissors- I recommend keeping a pair for your regular cutting needs as well, I just always happen to have a pair already at the theater spaces

A set of jewelry tools- these come in handy for bending small pieces of metal (I had to maintenance chandeliers all summer)

A set of upholstery and quilting needles

Beeswax

Two hot glue guns- one high temp, one low

Floral tape and wire

A crescent wrench

A set of ratcheting wrenches

Here are our two full-sized kits this round, Spy's Revolver! You can get your kit in grey or white.

Our first grey kit is a "calibration kit", meaning it has a few minor flaws and a discounted price.

These kits share the same measurements as our painted Spy's Revolver's (1 foot long x 6.75 inches tall x 1.5 inches wide) and weigh 6.5 oz (grey) and 6.2 oz (white).
