The creators over at Audiobus have a pretty good strategy about how their software company should be run. I don’t have the greatest analogy here, but one thing I can compare it to next to is toilet paper. I’m not saying that you should wipe your ass with your iPhone or that a person should go out and buy 1000 copies of Audiobus – I’m saying that in the long run, everybody will need this app. After all, you have a choice of what type of toilet you buy and what kind of soap you shower with – but everybody needs toilet paper, no matter the type or cost.
Audiobus is not that great of an app by iself, in fact, it does nothing by itself. Audiobus is used to let two music apps communicate with each other, a virtual patching of sorts. So far, they have a short list of apps that will run with Audiobus, but that list seems to be getting larger. With the positive feedback already coming back to the developers, other software companies are looking to have their program included in that list. It’s a win-win situation, so long as it works the way it should. Propellerhead is the next company in line, looking to get it running with their Figure app for iOS.
