Exclusive pin for preordering the Digital Deluxe Edition. Must extend kudos to the @rafagrassetti and the designers of the Shield! It has low-key become iconic in its own right, which is saying something since its so often featured alongside the other instantly iconic silhouettes of Kratos with his axe, and Atreus with his bow, side by side :D #Kratos #Atreus #GodOfWar #Fatherhood #Parenthood #Mother #Father #Son #NorseMythology #TheNineRealms #Svartalheim #Vanaheim #Helheim #Alfheim #Asgard #Midgard #Niflheim #Muspelheim #Loki #Odin #Thor #Freya #Aesir #Vanir #Yggdrasil #Fafnir #ProseEdda #Mimir #Sindri #Brok #ChristopherJudge

Inktober day 2. The theme was "divided", which made me think of the primordial frost giant Ymir in Norse mythology. Ymir's name originally meant something like "doubled", which makes me think on the one hand of the two-in-one nature of the hermaphrodite (of interest here since Ymir gives birth with no partner to new giants from his feet and under his arms) and on the other hand of the fact that this procreation was essentially a doubling of oneself (very like primordial cells, i suppose). The former of these points led me to portray Ymir with both male and female characteristics, and as very... Fecund, i guess. Curvy, breasted, and lots of hair everywhere (and of course statuesque godlike strength, to stay within the norms of deity illustration). The second point is what made me think of this in terms of the theme "division", though i'm not sure it's the closest fit-just part of the chain of associations that led me to this picture. When you are the first being in the universe to reproduce, it's got to be a bit startling, so i'm titling this not just "Primordial Procreation" but "Ymir hits puberty". In the background we have a primordial cow, leaking milk and licking something out of the ice, and a primordial burning man, both looking on in confusion at this primordial ruckus. You can check out Anthony Faulkes' translation of Edda, pp 10ff, for some details, though if i get around to posting about this on my main blog spoilers may ensue. #inktober #inktober2017 #norse #norsemythology #mythology #creationmyth #ymir #giants #jötnar #edda #snorraedda #proseedda #hermaphrodite #ginnungagap #frostgiants #primordial #inillotempore
proseedda replied to your post “all i want to take is the magic and folklore classes but those are for...”
That doesn't mean you can't take it! I'm teaching a class now for juniors and seniors, and I definitely have some non-majors.
Apparently the only pre-req is anthro 101 so we’ll see if i can take both or something

英語訳抜粋
Eight men survived Noah’s flood and they peopled the world. Generations came from them. Then it was still as before, when the world was more crowded and settled; at that time, it was all the multitude of mankind, who loved the desire of money and pride but neglected the respect to God. This state of mankind became so great that they would not mention God by His name.
