I set up my rig early at the #prospectparkalliance Gala to take advantage of the fading sunlight with no time to waste. I have to admit I always get self-consciousness when I start painting in a crowd. It seems like I’m stumbling around scatterbrained. Eventually it all starts to click. Oil on wood, 8”x8”, 2022. Went up the street to the #farmersmarket (Weds near Pritchard Sq, western corner of #prospectpark) for painting practice and a #tomato. I was successful at both! Oil on canvas h24”xw30”, 2022. Just did two day-long sessions on this canvas I first painted last August. I used a limited palette over a different limited palette, to end up with this fantasy landscape containing real elements, including a new tree fall blocking my original position. This spot is just across the street from my apt. NB: these photos were taken the other week 😷 This is another great lens - the Soviet made Jupiter 37A 135mm f3.5 M42 mount. My version is from 1979 and cost $10 at a yard sale. Based on the Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135mm 3.5 the lens has 12 blades for a very nice and interesting bokeh (not as severe as its relative, the Helios 44-M 58mm f2). It is super sharp and renders colors nicely.
