This time I'd like to share one of the first spells I ever did. It's heavily inspired by the custom to welcome new neighbors with a loaf of bread and a small container of salt.
The bread symbolizes the wish never to go short on food and the salt symbolizes wealth.
Let's get started, shall we?
Where to perform: For convenience's sake I'd suggest to set up in the kitchen
When to perform: Sunday or Thursday, Hour of Sun or Hour of Jupiter, Waxing Moon or Full Moon
salt dough (there are plenty of recipes available on the interwebs)
a green candle (or a white one)
something to represent the elements
a blue, or green, or gold ribbon
optional: a brush and acrylic colors
Gather the required staff.
Put the representations to the directions they belong to
Create a sacred space and set up in the east or north
Prepare the salt dough. With each ingredient you work into it, visualize prosperity coming into your life.
Shape a symbol out of the dough, that stands for prosperity. It may be a coin or a cornucopia.
Sprinkle it with salt and basil.
Present your work to the elements, going to each direction deosil from where you set up your workspace before.
You may say something like this:
„May a good wind bring prosperity into this household.“
„May good company gather around a warm fire.“
„May love flow like an endless stream of water.“
„May enough food for this family grow on fertile grounds.“
Bake the salt dough in the oven according to the recipe.
When it has cooled down you may paint it.
Attach the ribbon to the „bread“ and hang it in the kitchen.
