I’m not sure how many hours I spent on this little guy but Proto-Esker is all done!

I’m so pleased with how they turned out! Modelled in Nomad Sculpt and hand painted and textured in Procreate. Shown with standard and environmental lighting, hehe!

completely unrelated to the post but I'm finally getting my proto-hearthian youtooz pin so I doodled Pyro and Lami as such

answers below!

1. Does your OC have a voice claim, if so who?

I do have some voices for them in my mind, but not really a specific person's... so I'll describe them 🤔

Pyro's voice is loud, expressive and a little rough around the edges (from yelling too much). they talk like someone who's grinning all the time, like… there's this playful, teasing vibe to it (?) but it does get softer and deeper when they're all alone with Lami ☺️

you know what, I've decided that I have the power to make them temporarily have the voice of famous Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump. I feel that song fits them a bit too lol

Lami has a soft and monotone voice, and often talks slowly. something like this. they're capable of getting louder though hhehehehe-- *gets shot*

9. How does your OC handle their physical health? Do they take care of themselves?

I'm not sure if I've ever talked about this, but Pyro has been chronically ill since they were very young! I'll be more specific about it when I post their ref sheet+lore (in 50 years), but basically: they need daily injections of a medicine to survive, and for many years they were frequently bedridden before their treatment improved enough to let them live a relatively normal life.

now that they're stronger and healthier, they do their best to take care of themself by eating well, doing exercise, never skipping their meds and checkups, etc. but Pyro really struggles with the emotional weight of having a chronic illness. they hate being treated delicately and, to avoid that, they tend to overcompensate by acting tougher than they feel and pushing themself further than they should. 

10. How does your OC handle their mental health? Do they take care of themselves?

when I was creating Lami back in July THIS was what I initially wrote about their health:

and that... still holds true lol. 

Lami is extremely unkind to themself, so they handle their emotional struggles the same way they handle everything else, alone. they need lots of time and space to process their feelings, and when things become overwhelming, they tend to shove everything aside and bury it under work, routine, music, reading... anything.

Pyro is their main and (unreliable narrator moment) only source of support since they were little, and Lami needs them more than they'd ever admit. still, they have a hard time opening up about.. certain things.

25. Are they the kind of person who can't resist a good song? Can I catch your OC singing to themselves while they do the dishes?

Protoesker is finally finished!

From 3D model sculpt, to print, to paint - I made this all from scratch, and I learnt so much! For my first ever model, I'm super proud of this, but I have certainly got a lot to improve on! Honestly, my paint job isn't great, but for what I had to work with, I think they turned out alright!

Painted with pretty standard acrylics, with texture added with coloured pencils.

I'll post a little turnaround video in a bit as well!

Did a little more work on Protoesker today! Painting models is not my strong suit, but I wanted to make them feel like they had a "hand painted" texture to them, which I think I achieved! I'm just using acrylics and coloured pencils at the moment!

Tomorrow I'll get their markings on, paint and decorate the base and clean up any paint errors ::3

Also, I haven't forgotten about uploading the model file! I just need to split the base and the hat as they caused issues whilst printing.
