So my younger sibling, who is learning viola, was told by my Dad that if they can learn the critical role theme song, they get to be a level higher than everybody else for our upcoming DnD oneshot.
I swear this song it gets to me every time ahhahahahhhhhh
So excited to hear that the cheerleading squad at the school where I used to teach won their fourth consecutive state title, marking nine state titles in eleven years. Yet their coach, my old friend and colleague, as never once been even nominated for Georgia High School Coach of the Year. 16 years coaching the same team, nine state titles, four of them consecutive? I hate to pull the sexism card, but are you seriously telling me this woman hasn’t accomplished just as much or more than her male colleagues? Or is it sexism against these female athletes? (It’s an all girl squad).
This is a quote from our local paper: “Principal of the school drew laughs when he said college football dynasties pale in comparison to the school’s cheerleading dynasty . . . ‘They are not only great athletes, but outstanding students who excel in AP classes, honors classes and gifted classes. These young ladies go far and above what you imagine can be done.”
Congratulations, Lady Vikings!
Oh gosh. We're also at 403 (this makes 404) posts now. Which is crazy to me that I've been unhinged enough to confess 403 of my horny thoughts.
19!!
ohh my god. okay. okay. let's do this. 19. assign each of your fics a liquid
the hunter laird and the selkie king: a potion, an antidote, made from loch water collected at dawn, a tear of joy, a drop of blood from a non-mortal wound, a few spoonfuls of soup broth, a dab of polishing wax, and a handful of soil from beneath a fallen and decomposing tree trunk. something ancient and healing and effortful, created in collaboration, seems over the top but actually simple and accessible if you just lift your head and look around you
my head in your hands: a puddling drip from a rainbow striped fruit popsicle, licked off a wrist. messy sticky more than you bargained for and getting out of hand, hot wet obvious eager vulnerable gay
cascade: the drying ink of a rubber stamp, fading in repetition and then renewed to full brightness to cycle around again. inconsistent, awkward around the edges, clerical, pattern-making, indecipherable, always in your drawer but you forget to use it, melodramatic, quotidian, marks an achievement or a silly decorative note.
TWAT2001, again: your first-ever swallow of alcohol, smuggled in your friend's basement after a concert, not as sharp as you thought it would be and much more sticky sweet. nostalgic and full of yearning and somehow both over and underwhelming, everything comes rushing in and stays there in your chest
harry on fire: an espresso made to your lover's taste, brought back to bed and cooling on the nightstand. rich intimate careful goes right to your head. to be sipped slowly or downed all at once, but watch out.
belly-down in spun cotton: this one's the hardest. aaa. how do i get at what this fic is for me? i think it's a tear, actually. a joyful hopeful incredulous grief-tinged tear, when something is better than what you thought you'd ever get and suddenly you have what you want right there in your palms and you feel that joy and also it sharpens where you had been before. seeps away into your pillowcase and leaves you with the slow throb of adrenaline come-down and now you can sleep. can be used in the above antidote, can be used to heal all manner of things.
sun shower: coconut oil. versatile simple predictable comforting delicious. best with onion garlic ginger. adds shine to dull things, adds soft and suppleness when dry. my cat tries to lick it off my legs.
what a genius of a question. thank you for sending it for me!
