Proverbs 4:20-22
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

watch over your heart ♥
If I keep Your Words constantly before my eyes and in my heart, I am promised they will bring me life and health. Not only spiritual wholeness, but wholeness of my flesh as well…
MAY 17, PRAISE HIM AS THE ONE WHO GIVES PROTECTION FROM DISEASE
“My son, attend unto my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” —Proverbs 4:20-22
My Holy Sustainer, You have made a way of provision for every need of my body, soul and spirit. This world is full of sickness and disease. The message I would receive from it is one of hopelessness. Because of the plagues that exist among us, I could be made to fear if I trusted in the flesh (John 16:33).
You have exhorted me to keep Your words ever before my eyes. What that means to me is that I should not allow any false doctrine or any message contrary to what is taught in Your Word to come between me and You. If I do, I have opened myself to evil and it’s results. Let me examine my daily habits to know where I fall short of obedience (Psalm 1:1-2).
You have ordered me to keep Your Words in the midst of my heart; that is, I should know them so well that I could draw from them by memory. In every situation I encounter, I ought to be familiar enough with the scriptures to know what kind of counsel is given, in order to receive proper guidance and be capable of doing Your will (Psalm 119:105).
If I keep Your Words constantly before my eyes and in my heart, I am promised they will bring me life and health. Not only spiritual wholeness, but wholeness of my flesh as well.
Knowing this, I should always maintain a daily study of Your Word and allow it to act like vitamins. When my strength is built up, I am less likely to get sick. If I ever find myself ailing, I need to study more than ever and absorb Your truth like a medicine. When I don’t feel well it is difficult to have a positive outlook about anything. If I’m not careful, doubt could sneak in and I might find myself less able to recover because of unbelief.
Help me to receive these promises by fulfilling the requirements. I can’t expect You to do Your part, if I haven’t done mine.
