hey, what're your thoughts on Knox's character in proxy?
my feelings for him can be summed up with just: he is the sole reason I refuse to read Guardian.
like, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the ending of Proxy, and it was definitely something that needed to happen, but Knox was my absolute favourite character in the book, and I’m not really interested in reading the book if it’s not gonna have him in it.
He started off as such a complete and utter jackass at the beginning of the book (largely due to his upbringing, not that that excuses him) and I really hated him at first, but it was amazing seeing him grow and mature throughout the story, and his actions at the end of the novel were his last step towards true redemption, you know? I love that despite everything that happened between him and Syd, they were able to build something beautiful out of their relationship. Knox was a deeply unhappy boy, and there’s almost this sense of relief at the end of the book that he did something that he can be proud of, and that he can finally be happy.
